Hi,

Now I've bought a Spider I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations for an Alfa specialist in the York/Leeds area? The car is pretty sorted, it would just be good to have someone local I could go to if I find something I can't do.

Also any recommendations for parts supply? I'm looking for the wheel centres to start with. The front two are badly faded and its probably best to replace all four at the same time.

There is an Alfa specialist in Huddersfield just off the stadium roundabout. Haven't had to use them but been going for many years.

There's Turin Motors in Leeds. Again I've not used them but they've been going a while.

I've owned my GTV for 12 years, based in Leeds. I actually travel to Roger at Peak Alfa (Derbyshire). Can strongly recommend.
I can un-recommend Turin M. Used them a few times in the early days. Problems were: consistently soiling the car interior, just not taking care getting grease and boot marks all over everything, damaging the carpet and sill covers. Final straw was: in for a service. Just weeks later discovered by my myself that airbox cracked, letting air in after the filter. Not so bad, a common problem, except that someone had bodged the plastic case together with a self tapping screw, through the casing... Needless to say, this did not seal air from getting in, still big gap. (It had actually destroyed the MAF)
Only 3 possibles...
1)they didn't change the air filter, as paid for
2) they did change filter, cracked the box in the process, and bodged with the screw
3) they did change the filter but didn't bother to tell me about the bodge that there was no way you could do the filter swap and not see...

Am aware of Alfa Tech in Hudds but never used.

Cheers.

I used JJB in York but they have closed so I'm now looking at AlfaTek in Whitley Bridge for the next things that need doing.

Worrying about Turin Motors.

There is also Italia Auto in Meltham, less than 10 minutes away from me.
Although they are Ferrari specialists they happily like all Italian cars.
I would use them for the Maserati but they don't have a SD2, and, they appear to draw the line at end of pre-Ferrari SD2 cars, which is a shame.

I have used Turin Motors in Leeds for many years to service all my Alfa Romeos and Maseratis. Never had any problems and fairly priced to boot. The fact they are starting to renovate my Alfa 75 from the bottom up shows they can cater for the usual Alfa stuff in Yorkshire and more.

Can Turin Motors reset the service light on Masers too?

Hi Wanderer,

The main Maserati service chap from JCT Brooklands went there several years ago and hence let them sort my cars so I guess the answer is yes. They are re-building a 3200 at the moment and have access to diagnostics etc . If helpful I'll ask them on Saturday when I collect a car from a service.

Me too. If there's somewhere local that can look after it that would be better than Manchester.

Pretty sure when i called them last year when i was looking for a QP they didnt have the SD3. I was specifically asking about clutches though.

They never answer emails either!
