Granturismo S Auto appeal?

Not sure whats the problem but trying to sell my car just now with Nareman at Nuvola and have had hardly any interest. Its Black/Black Gts Auto with 18k miles and doesn't need any work done... It is for sale with reputable dealer, second cheapest GTS on Autotrader sub 20k miles and yet it doesn't appeal to people for some reason.

Is it a price thats too high? Its £44k. Is it fact its an Auto or is it because its black? Just frustrating really as I can see other cars are selling... Does everyone really prefer to buy Mcshift to Auto?

Blue with Light interior not as nice IMO. Nothing wrong with your car at all the GTS looks mean as **** in Black.

It's a tiny market, with a lot of cars for sale. I had the AC for sale a year ago for 6 months, and only two enquiries.

You did better than me , I've sold 4 Maser's so far, one took 1 minute, the other 3200 took 3 weeks, the 4200 4 hours, the QP 3 months and the current auto 3200 has been on for a year, I can only conclude that no one wants an auto as the other two I sold were manual cars.

Mileage is important up to a point. I would
Have thought at 44k , an MC shift would be most people's choice.
The right price is what someone is willing to pay. No point in beating yourself up about it or trying to understand it.
What does nareman think? He is normally right on pricing. If you want to sell and get into another car - just drop the price a bit! If you aren't bothered just wait a bit longer.
There doesn't seem to be any magic formula with these.. it's a small market and luck is involved. I would never have thought that red GTs would get 37k privately recently - but it did - because someone probably loved the interior.
With a standard black , common spec colour combo and interior - regardless of miles there is lots of competition out there... and most people seem to want a bargain

Everybody is different but there seems to be more nero/nero ones than any others.

For me if I were looking for a GT S I would want half leather half alcantara. Just helps break up the black. I find the Maser black leather is quite dark. Other black leathers I've had from other manufacturers are lighter and more dark grey.

I wouldn't mind the auto or MC. The car looks a great example & the price seems fair for the condition/mileage.

Often with Masers they can take some time to sell to achieve a good price. A car will always sell quick cheaper. Drop it to 35k & I'll buy it

he says its a good price, was hoping to sell it at 45 but no luck. My worry is that I don't have a car and still have expenses, insurance and road tax are up in couple of weeks (okay most of it I can get back when it sells) but then service is due in Dec and if it takes another 4 months to sell then I have to think about covering cost of that as well, so worst possible outcome, can't enjoy the car, can't move on and still have to pay. I understand if I drop it to 35 it will sell but don't want to be out of the pocket so much - so far had better residuals on my Audi S4 even if it sells at the asking price....

If you're looking at getting into another car, you might have to take a hit and go for a p/x otherwise it's a case of sitting tight and wait for the right person to come along. Dropping the price may not make any difference unless it is a dramatic price cut which of course you won't want.
Unfortunately, there are plenty around but it's well presented and is at a reputable specialist so should only be a matter of time.
Good luck

I don't think black is the problem, he's shifted plenty of black ones in the last 2 months.

There was a bloke on pistonheads (I think) recently said he was looking seriously and asking about auto vs mc-shift and since he lives in London proper was minded to go auto, so there are buyers out there but as people say the market is small so needing to move quickly is not your friend. I doubt you have to drop as much as to £35k to shift it quickly though

I have been looking for an MC Shift in Blue with tan or cream, or a mid grey with tan for a few months.
There seemed to be fewer MC shifts, and even fewer MC shifts that weren't black.

Could it be that a lot were ordered in black, and tastes have changed a bit, a bit like silver cars around the millennium?

I wanted any colour but black when I was looking for mine.

There aren't many in other colours around.

In contrast, I would ONLY consider black with black interiors when I was looking for mine. Admittedly, I am quite closed-minded around vehicle colour...

Plenty like black on black so shouldn't be a factor. Most on this forum prefer the MC Shift and there are plenty of automated manuals for sale at price of your auto. Appreciate yours is vlm.

It's your lucky day OP as Pistonheads have featured your car on the Spotted article. Expect a sale.

Too many cars with Nareman, looks like I referred to the wrong car, the one in question is a Black MC Shift at £40k!

I was forced to post on the thread in defence of the GTS when those philistins have never got near a Maser GT and instantly dismiss them.

Yep, unfortunately lots of "pub experts" on there. Some of the sections are quite good though. Good luck with sale.

How
Do they dismiss them? What is their reasoning? They are fantastic looking cars that sound amazing...what more do they want!
