Change front number plate

I will be changing the front number plate shortly can you tell me how to remove the current one and replace without doing any damage.
It's wd40 and fishing Line? Do you need anything else?

Car came back yesterday from storage - first time I have driven it properly

Dental floss works well for number plate & badge removal & 3M VHB tape for sticking the plates back on

WD40, let it soak in first then peel. Apply more WD40 to get the residue off.
It's a pain in the ar5e.

Also boiling water works to loosen it and then I use tar remover to get rid of the residual....

I know this is an old thread, but just to add to it, I always use a hairdrier to apply heat to the old plate. Never been particularly difficult
