Is it a good car? Have you had to spend a great deal on it?
Long story... I drove the car back to France and the car finally arrived home 1 year and a half later :-( !
One of the spart plug blowed off on my way back and I got the car towed to a Maserati work shop in the west of France. No big damage on the car, but they keep it a very long time to do a full service!
It cost me an arm :)!

I will also need to have the bottom reworked and treated against corrosion, and the full exhaust pipe changed... which will cost me another arm!

I we get a chance to meet, I'm even not sure to have enough money left to pay you a beer :sad3:

Here's my pic of a Primatist at Prescott a couple of years ago. To the left is a normal ABS model Ghibli, and the right is a Cup.

Ewan, do you have the number plate of the Primatist... sound to be the English one dickyb is talking about AS 408 DE !

I'd happily own any of them!

I'll be owing you a beer for saving me the trauma!

Here are some more photos and as you can see it is the same car AS 408 DE, the interior is certainly an acquired taste

Great pictures, thanks for sharing Andy!
Sound like you are a professional photograph!?

@ Ewan, very impressive: at least 8 Ghibli on the same picture!
What was this meeting?

There are 21 RHD Ghibli Cups in the UK and I arranged a get together at the Maserati Club AGM at Prescott in 2013. We ended up with, from memory, 10 Cup cars. But another 6 or so other Ghiblis arrived as well, including that one Primatist.

I since sold my last Cup and I believe it's now owned by Soprano Stu.

I can see the usual Ghibli rust trap beginning to have an effect behind the front grille in the last picture :(

One Primatist added to the list - the car is located in France and just get a new owner!
Congratulations to the new owner :thumb3:

What a lovey car in such a fantastic colour.. far to much for me I'm afraid, just sticking with my old 3200 GT!

fascinating stuff,

I missed out on that meet due to something happening to the car at the time. I think the wheels were in bits, or something like that...

I've always quite liked the Primatist interior personally!

I don't think Gandini is credited as the designer of the Ghibli though.

The original designer of the Biturbo was Pierangelo Andreani but Marcello Gandini did the facelift design on the last cars (2.24v series ii, 4.24v series ii, 222 4v, 430 4v, and Racing) which incorporated his trademark spoiler at the base of the windscreen etc, also seen on his facelift of the DeTomaso Pantera, the SI. I believe he did also design the Ghibli to a certain extent although again this was more of a major facelift to the Biturbo shape rather than a new design from scratch.

Fred, I'm not sure if you've seen this French car which claims to be a Primatist? It states Primatist in the guarantee but the chassis number is much earlier than the earliest Primatist I know of which is *361856. The colour of this French car also looks to be Azzuro Glass rather than Blu Mare, there don't appear to be any Primatist badges on the side and the interior is different, although the turquoise accents seem to be similar to a genuine Primatist.

Hello, I would like to revive the topic: Primatist and post a few photos of the Maserati Day 2016 in Frankfurt. At that time, 3 out of 34 Ghibli Primatist met.

Best Regards from Germany,
Werner

The Primatist interior is something to behold and despite photos it does look rather good in the flesh but subtle it is not.
