Wow some miles. Shows what can be done. You could tuck it away and do 2k miles pa but in five years time would it still look leggy at ten years old and 50k?

It looks like it Phil, this just confuses me more.

I would not worry Matt. 40k miles on a specialist car like that is hard to value. The car that Athol bought off Dicky was listed at £73k IIRC on 5k miles. I'm not trying to draw out what he paid but I think Athol's car was better value net. Specialist cars need sensible miles to easily value and sell IMHO.

I am surprised to see one this cheap but it has twice the miles of any other I've seen?

40k not ay miles really but will hurt values on this type of market.......Plus we don't know what the car is like condition wise.....Still think the good ones will not dip below 65k.....but as with all things you will get the odd bargain pop up with someone who may needs to sell quickly....Wouldn't worry too much Matt as even if they do drop they will always end up going up again due to the rarity of the car.

40,000 miles is a lot given that it must be right in the worrying stage with consumable like the clutch and those £3700 PER DISC (+vat) ceramics etc

If it's not been cared for well, you could spend mucho pesos getting it right.

I'll tell you what I paid for mine on Sunday bob. Dicky was very reasonable.

I though the brakes were supposed to last the life of the car, baring any chips?

It does beg the question, I wonder how much this dealer paid for the car in the first place?

I Blo^^dy hope so! Even if they do, which I suspect they don't, the pads alone are £800+vat. I'm actually tempted to switch them out for some FD still discs and Ferrodo pads, then keep the ceramics in cotton wool, in a safety deposit box.

Not a bad idea, I'm sure the performance of the two can't be THAT radically different

I read some tests on the Jag F-type in a mag about the performance between the standard steels and the ceramics. Virtually identical performance until 50 start/stops were completed in succession. Then the benefits of ceramics become apparent. On the road unless your a loon the difference across the board seems to be negligible if any. On the track I suspect a different story.

The ad now has photos, I have to say it looks bl00dy nice with the harnesses and rollcage & I don't generally like white cars but this one looks bada55!
Some of the buttons are showing signs of wear but what do you expect for under £60k!

40,000 Miles. Is it really that bad, especially if you don't do much mileage?

The spec is great. The colour and the interior great.

It has just had the clutch done and, I am guessing from the advert, a fortune spent on it over its life.

Buy it!

Those harnesses will just get on your tits, come trying to take a ticket from a machine or reach into the passenger footwell etc... A lot of car for under £60k though.

Sure is a tempter, as an occasional (less than 1000 miles per year) weekend-blast toy. Anyone know anything about the dealer?
