Both lovely Andy, would be hard pushed to pick a fav between them tbh. Still aiming for a sport QP as next wheels once Marci goes into semi retirement since I would not go for a 42/GS because there would be no point in having 2 coupes and even though I like the GT......it is a big beast and a coupe.

Think is I would be torn between the blue QP and a 4.2 GT as they are at the same price...

The blue example is lovely but Its about 3-4k overpriced, even with the colour! The 2nd example is overpriced given the mileage by 1-2k at least.

I would sooner have a GT S within the 22-25k zone with less miles and wrap it.

That blue is the same colour as mine. Though mine has the black window surrounds and black front grill surround, along with body colour coded door handles. The first owner of this car must have specified extra chrome instead.

I'd urge any QP owner who's not tried a GTS version to have a go. The differences are far greater than you'd expect - in a very good way! It's so much more planted and stable, while still being compliant.

The black one looks nice as well, and very fairly priced. I've bought cars from that garage before. First was a QP IV, which a year or so later I part exchanged with them for a Ghibli Cup. But the Cup had a few problems so I swapped it (plus some cash) for a 355 Spider they had in stock at the same time. At that time they concentrated on BMW's but regularly had a smattering of Maseratis and Ferraris.

Yep, know them as a respected BMW specialist Ewan......I think that car was for with another dealer until last week and has reappeared at this one...Same price.......

Prefer yours with the colour coded door handles and the black window surround...Suppose it wouldn't be too difficult to get it done though.

Just occasionally. The weather's been poor, so mostly I'm in the Range Rover. The last time I used it was the forum lunch meet a few weeks ago. But every time I do get in it, I love it.

Take it there is no way to part you from it,

As it happens was just looking at this one on Autotrader,

It's still for sale, cheeky offer and they can scrap my passat for me!!!!

Andy, I've noted you mention a few times the black window surround but for me it cheapens the looks whereas a splash of chrome adds a touch of class, going back to the 70's black trims were the basic models and chrome always the top models, just my thoughts.

Out of the 2, I prefer the black one because of the interior. The Piano Black is better than wood (or Carbon) in my opinion.
Each to their own.
Are the sport GT's so much better than my Executive? You seem to be paying a high premium or not getting a younger car.
I cannot decide whether to stick with my 2007 as a keeper or what
problems problems!

I'd like to know the difference between a sport GT and an executive Gt , the executive was more expensive but that may have been for the luxury items rather that the sportier ones, the GT still needs suspension and a gear change but gets faster changes and adjustable suspension while the executive gets optional toys as standard but standard gear changee and no skyhook from what I can see

I do not honestly know (hence I cannot understand the price differential now)
Was the Executive more expensive? Again I do not know.
I just saw my QP Exec on a forecourt and drove it on a test run and that was it, I was smitten.
I will only ever have a Maser as a proper car for the rest of my driving days and probably a QP at that, but which guise
Sport, GT Sport, Facelift, QPV1 or keep mine.................

If yours is mechanically sound I'd keep it rather than change it for a similar car, there's no guarantee spending more money will buy you trouble free motoring

If I had a QP already my only upgrade path would be QP GTS / QP 4.7S or a GT

Chrome equals class, but not fast. I reckon the more aggressive look suits the GTS. But then I prefer a GS over the cleaner lines of a 4200.

The Exec was more expensive than the Sport, as it came with picnic tables, curtains, etc. So if wafting about, sitting in the back while your man-servant drives is your thing, the Exec is the way to go. But if you like sitting in the front and holding the wheel, the Sport is the one. Or, spend a bit more and get a Sport GTS, and then you get proper suspension, brakes, etc, and you get a QP which can actually excite.

All the "cheaper" QP's had the chrome window surrounds. Only the the range topping GTS had them blacked out. But surely no one bought their QP V on price, as they were all expensive. And within reason, the same is still true. Pick the model/spec/colour you like, and wait for it to crop up.
