Sold by classic alfa.... one of the best respected people in the alfa world.

At least they are honest about the extensive problems.

Seems more effort than it's worth though!

Yes my old car! Bottom end rebuild needed most likely spun a conrod bearing / shell. Lack of service from 35k Miles until 75k.

Owned by Ronan originally.

Crank will probably be grooved beyond repair too, as was my 4200 coffee table project engine.

I would spent £2k and just put a new used lump in it as the pump may have failed too.

its not worth it

they had an alfa up for sale, it needed LOADS of work doing which they didn't mention

you have to ask your self, if its worth doing - why are they not doing it ? they are a specialist

Sorry Essex boy sarcasm. I think it was pretty clear not one of you were going to bid it up.

It says a lot to me when a garage won't fix it when their labour is in effect free, if all it needs is an engine fitting and a new clutch to at least double the current bid why aren't they doing it.

If they can't fix it economically even if they have to pay a mechanic £12-15 an hour what chance have you got at £50-60 an hour.

Different if you know of a good engine and can do the work yourself, anything is fixable , just look at some of the junk on eBay that sells for tens of thousands
