Anyone know this car that has been hanging around for a while, was at 11k now at 8995. COuld it be a simple fix plugs or cat? Or something more sinister, dealer says it happens at 4.5k revs, people have tried fixing it but no one ever does, it sounds like it is his car and he wants shut. Said he has been "****** about" etc.. and it is as old as his youngest buy and is what it is lol :D

Only down the road from me, would it be a wasted trip?

As it's only down the road, I'd take a look - you're a sucker for a silver Maserati after all! It could be a bargain as the ad states!

As he is a dealer I think he knows what wrong and how much it will cost to fix otherwise why would he drop the price from 11k to 9k. If it going to cost more than 2k must be something major.

Which is, of course, the other view :) He *is* a dealer, but not a Maserati specialist from what I can tell. I can imagine it was taken in PX and he just wants rid. I am an optimist, though :)

I agree Mr C, it's cash that is tied up and he wants to liquidate and free up some space, you need to go and check it out Phil!

I may well have a run down with Voicey this week, that way can find out what is wrong with it and check clutch wear :)

It should be worth that much in spares alone. 4 wishbones are£4k. That's halfway there.

Why are you agreeing with him? Traitor?

Really? Another silver car? Is that not how Chris Evans started out on his road to ruin with 3 white fezzers and look where it got him! A garage full of white cars valued at over 20m, a couple million for the radio show and 3 more for top gear......just where did it all go wrong Chris, just where. ;)

I understand that there is a very serious issue with 4200 engines which initially manifests itself as a slight misfire and a then a CEL indicating the a cam timing issue on the left bank. It is related to the oil cooler failing and reduicing oil pressure. By the time the missfire becomes very prominent, serious damage is done and the remedy is an engine swap. I got this information when I was looking for a car from a very highly regarded Indy.
