Seems the 'Wing' can't withstand high winds. It's looking a bit worse for wear.

Looks like it had the same designer as your car port Drew! Who would have thought that a 'wing' wouldn't give lift.

Suspect it might take a bit longer to fix than my car port did.... :D

They've got 10 days to fix it before the WEC weekend.

There's a race series on this weekend that I'm going to and my MD is a participant in. It's still set to go ahead but practice was cancelled yesterday.

Why are the architects responsible? The contractor who built it badly should be responsible or the engineer who calculated the wind loads and fixing specification if it was built correctly.

I thought the architects were also responsible for calculating the loads and forces to which their designs were subjected. In that case, if not, get an even bigger tarpaulin in which to place the ritually mutilated corpses of the architects, engineers and contractors. Better?! ;)

No. It would the structural engineer. Actually it would usually be a specialist facade engineer for a building like this. Sometimes they turn it into a contractor design portion. So the contractor would have done the calcs and fixing spec.

The architect does not do any calculations of any kind.

Well, shoot him anyway, the building looks cr4p.
