Looks ok. However, I don't like the black wheels, it makes it look too 'heavy'. IMO, it would look better with mid grey wheels.

Good value, love the interior.

Re-doing the wheels at that price for the car, would not be a dealbreaker at all.

Sold my 03 (04MY) 4200 for a grand less than that car some 4 years ago this May.

Had very similar miles and a far superior service history with no annuals or miles skipped...Prices have remained very steady for some time now...or I sold far to low!!!

Quite honestly Pete, I think the buyer got an absolute bargain if you sold for that price 4 years ago. 3 years ago I couldn't find anything for that price.

Indeed...there were some less than kind comments from some on the forum, despite them not knowing the car(s) or reading the history in the advert...but yes a fully sorted car serviced just weeks ago by Emblem in Poole, new tyres, 12 month MOT 6 months tax, no paint damage and all the extras...what a fool I was letting that one go. and yes it was the cheapest one in the UK.

Here's the old add.

2003 Maserati 4200 CambioCorsa

For sale my beautiful Maserati in Sebring metallic blue. This car has been my pride and joy for the last 3 years. It is the later 2003 version with the revised steering and gearbox [as can be seen by the deletion of the antenna on the rear wing].

The car has been cared for regardless of expense and I have receipts to the value of over 20k spent on maintenance over the cars life. It has a full Service History including both annual and mileage services.

As well as the standard spec the car also benefits from the additional extras including; Xenon headlights with wash system, Heated and Electric leather seats, Factory Satellite Navigation, Smart Nav with Tracker, 6 Disc Auto Changer, Black Brake Callipers, Optional 7 Spoke 18†alloys, cruise control, Rear PDC, Skyhook Adjustable suspension, Laser & Radar detector.

The car is priced as the cheapest 4200 nationwide, and this reflects it condition and mileage. I will not accept any silly offers and if the car does not reach the advertised price [or very near] I will not sell it. Please no dealers/traders, agencies and I will only permit test drives with proof of fully comprehensive insurance.

Looks great and the blue and cream look so good together - as I said the price of good 4200s is holding and to think this car is almost 6k more than I sold mine for. I think it is time people woke up to the fact that the perceived 50k miles or under to get a good car is ludicrous, esp give the age of the cars now.

Especially when there are 3200's with similar mileage knocking around at 16-17k. Horses for courses really. I guess the Nirvana is too find a regularly used car with good miles rather than one that has been sat in a garage. 10 yr old cars with 12-20k miles worry me really.

Peter,
I've always been intrigued by ads that put no test drives without insurance.
Do you feel it stopped any potential buyers? I can't help feeling it puts barriers up right at the beginning but equally you have to protect you and yours, quite understandably.
A buyer may not want to pay for insurance on a first visit in case its not what they want but it would be reliant on the vendor not selling a car if a second visit was required with insurance.
I didn't drive my last car as that was the reason and it was being inspected so I felt safe. It proved to be the wrong option as there was a problem I feel I'd have noticed but the inspection didn't.
There's never going to be a "right" answer for everyone but I thought I'd ask as you went that route.
