I agree with you Dicky re Nuvolari I think its a colour that some pictures don't do justice, looks grey, silver, gold, champagne or even pink sometimes but it was a £1450 cost option and I have a data base of all GS in the UK and there is only 11 in Grigio Nuvolari.
What do you think on colours, my first choice would be Blues, then grey's (but not Touring) then black but not with black interior.
So far he has not replied to my email so he cant be in any rush to sell or maybe some of my questions will de-value the car further, did he say when last clutch was fitted?
really grateful for your help.
best regards
John

If you are expecting a new cluch to be fitted for the current selling price or have the £2k discounted then that is close to a 18% discount...quite an ask if he is in no particular rush to sell.

Each to their own on colour I suppose but it's not a strong selling colour.

The impending clutch would give the reason it's so cheap, there had to be a reason, nobody gives things away.

Still it's worth a punt and you may get a year or longer out the clutch.

That's a lovely looking GS, John. Looks very much like Robin's (Team GCR) GranSport coupe. I'd also say that's an excellent price for a 2006 LE with that mileage. If an inspection shows all is well you should jump at it.

As MAF says that is very much like my Coupé.

Mine has a black dash top and the light colour will reflect in the windscreen so you may want to consider having that recovered if you were to buy the car.

Below is the email I sent him, if Dicky says its been on sale since October why has it not sold, either there's a problem or he's not taking offers and not bothered about selling.

I would like to come down and view the car although I’m going on holiday Friday but could come down any time in the day light this Thursday.
Because it’s a round trip of about 6 hours for me then there are a number of questions I would appreciate you answering so as I’m not disappointed and don’t waste both our times.

1. Why are you selling.
2. How long have you owned and where did you purchase from.
3. How many owners on the V5.
4. How many stamps in the service book and has the vehicle got a complete Maserati Service History.
5. Could you list the Date, Miles and who carried out the services and do you have documentation/receipts/invoices to confirm this.
6. When was the Clutch last changed date/miles, and has the percentage of ware been measured recently ( this is very important as a new clutch is £2k).
7. Any accident damage you know of.
8. Any Advisories on the last MOT.
9. Does the car have the following extras, Electric memory front seats, Sat Nav, Bluetooth or GSM phone, Auditorium 200 hi fi.

Many thanks for your help and I promise you that if I do like your car I am a genuine guy who will not mess you around.

It might be worth actually calling him. For example you have asked if it has a Full Maserati History, he might have assumed that if it doesn't it isn't worth replying as you will not be interested, whereas I presume you would be if it had a Full Maserati and/or Specialist History?

Any accident damage? As above it might have had a minor knock that has been properly repaired, would that stop you buying it? He may think so.

Any advisories on the last MOT? Only really relevant if they have not been rectified which would be shown in the service history presumably.

If it helps I can tell by looking at the pictures that it does have an electric memory drivers seat, you can see the Auditorium badges on the doors above the speakers anti has headlamp washers so will have Xenon lights.

I f I was the seller I would be happy to discuss the car and your questions on the phone but some of the questions and their wording might make me wonder if it was worth my while responding to that email.

Found this one on Autotrader (link below), been for sale a while now but looks good miles and good spec, not sure about Grigio Nuvolari but looks to have LE spec.
I've been emailing the owner he says he will take £23750 so I've just sent him a load more questions but was hoping someone may know this car and whether it's a goodun.
many thanks for any info on the car that may save me a 5 hour round trip.
John (still looking looking) from Horsham.

I enquired after this one as soon as it was listed back in November/December. Spoke to the fella, seemed like a reasonable chap on the phone. And as you say, he wasn't willing to drop more than £250. As I really liked the colour/spec, I emailed him some questions so that I knew a little more about the car before making to long journey to see it. The reply I got was along the lines of, 'all the information is here (with the car) and if you're interested then you'll have to come and view it.' Appreciate he may have had a lot of potential buyers asking a lot of questions but his lack of cooperation really put me off. So, I didn't bother viewing it!

sounds like his attitude lost a sale..........costs nothing but a few minutes of time to reply courteously when selling, and you are more likely to make the sale imo.

Thanks Robin and well spotted re the extra's so it does look to be a LE then.
I take what you say MrCoop and will probably drop him one more email to see if he is willing to cooperate then phone him for a chat, I go on holiday Friday and will be at sea so no communication for a week so may well view the car when I return.
I cant believe some people being difficult to deal with as I'm a great believer in "people buy from people" and if you don't like someone you wont buy from them, I've just had to sell my F355 as I've split from the wife and I wrote 2 x A4 write ups explaining every thing and nothing was to much trouble if I thought the person was a genuine purchaser.
Guess what, I got the price I wanted.
regards
John.

Spot on, I'd go out of my way to answer any questions and then if any of them were not what they wanted to hear would follow up with "Please come and have a look around the car and then make up your mind" but some people are just ******* rude and arrogant. Doesn't deserve a car like that at all!

Agree, if interested give them a call. That shows you are really interested. Emails turn some off.

Been lucky enough to sell all but one of my cars within a few days of advertising them, all to the first person who viewed them too.

The one that didn't sell immediately gave me a headache though, loads of people emailing and texting silly offers or arranging to view and not showing up. Still sold to the first person who viewed it, but it took a while.

Everything sells if the price is right.
Latest update - the car disapered off Autotader yesterday and as I dont have his phone number I have had to send one last polite email.
I go on holiday Friday so we will see what happens, I would probably pay 23k if all checked out and needed a clutch soon but hay I not that keen on the colour and Im enjoying the search.
many thanks to everyone who chipped in and hope to meet you some day in a nice GS.
best regards

Well guy's I thought I'd give you a quick update on my quest for a nice GS.
Went all the way to Dorchester the other day to view the Grigio Nuvolari car we were all discussing as I just was not sure on the colour, good thing is that its a proper LE and the sun was out and I loved the colour so subject to Emblem checking it all over next week I will hand over my readies.
