Don't know it and looks pretty good so might be worth a look........though it has not moved since sept it seems from the mileage.

The dealer was a bit strange with me , had a nice 4200 in silver for sale , but was less than keen for me to have it inspected. I walked away .. It just didn't feel right .

Hi allanb, i'm new to site and looking to enter the realms of a Maserati ownership, did you have any other responses to these regarding the 05 4200GT in Barry that is still posted on ebay.
From the details given it appears to look good , I noticed servicing has not been carried out every year, but assuming that is due mileage. I know assumption may not be correct as there could be reasons not disclosed. Appears from responses other have looked but I've trawled the forums for earlier references and have not found anything. Like you wouldn't want my first experience to be a bad one and furthermore wouldn't want to throw my well earned money down the pit. Would appreciate any comments, if you are following up just say as wouldn't want to step on any toes.

SteveB, get an independent inspection done, cost up to £300 for a detailed report but could save you a considerable amount..!! If they shy away from an inspection, probably something to hide, walk away..!!
there is a list of independents on here covering the country. Search: Independent Maserati Specialists

hi, Thanks for a quick response, will look into. I'm also of thought that as it has been up for sale for sometime there must be a reason why such a sought vehicle is still unsold. Thanks again

Steve, I too am in the first throws of possibly finding a Maserati, although at the moment the draw of another TVR is pressing ******* my mind !!!

Saying that, I've done some reading, and looked at a few now, but can't get away from comments made on this site. There are a lot of knowledgeable guys here, and some of the comments, you just know you need to take heed of !! (failing that, they must be good at blagging it, but I'm sure that's not the case !!!)

I do know that when I have found a vehicle that is more in line with my expectations, i will get an independent inspection done, and yes I know that it costs £300 ish, but hey, compared to the repair costs that this marque could attract, I'll take the initial hit to find as good an example as possible.

BTW, if anyone know of any 3200's that will be for sale in the not too distant future, this could be of interest for me. (just not silver though please!!!)

Yes I've spoken to Richard, the AC is Silver and automatic, so not my cup of tea, but to be fair the idea of the car appreciating is an attractive one !

although I think all the good 32s will rise in price over the next few years, and the ACs a little on top of that again, to get any real financial benifit in a few years you would need to virtually store/rarely use it so depends what you want from your car.............to drive it, or make money on it. If the former, then wait till the right car comes along........if the later, then grigio is one of the "popular" colours so will sell well at any time.
re auto v manual, lots of posts on here with content on that "discussion" but you should not rule out an auto unless you try one. I was looking for a manual till I tried the auto, now would not consider changing over to a manual.

I don't get what is wrong with Silver, it's popular but boy does it show the lines of the Coupe extremely well. What's not to like about this?

Hey Phil,

There's noting wrong about Silver I actually like silver, but the last two TVR's I had were silver and I want something different this time!

I saw this car for sale privately about 18 months ago.....it didn't sell for about 8 months so i presume the dealer in Cardiff picked it up cheap.
I don't know the car but i do know the dealer.
I looked at some other 4200's he had at the time....very dodgy, unclear, unhelpful, inflexible, poor comms etc and gives you the run around......i walked away, as have many others on this site.

Has any one been to see this? Or does anyone know the car?

many thanks for the post, Car didnt sell again at £13995 and had gone back on for £15995, feedback on ebay for seller says he's a great guy and cars previously sold have been good, But, and it's a big but, going off Maserati forum comments, I wont bother him. Thanks all for the advice and comments, I'll dream on. Plenty of good ones out there.

Interesting that there is some good feedback on ebay. There wasn't any in relation to car sales when I looked. Most of the ebay feedback was for mobile phones and seemed to be his brothers account in Australia.....another reason to steer clear.
