Quite a lot wrong with it such as speed over the road doesn't quite match the revs/ gears etc but as you say quite fun to watch

An old Merc used as the camera platform. You can see its double stack headlights reflected in a window at one stage...yes dubbing is a little irritating but I think we all agree...it would be fun if the roads were that clear.

Agreed.

Wasn't it proved to be a Citroen in the end. If you watch the film closely the car brakes when still going up the gears in places.

The DS was often used for filiming moving shots as its suspension was so soft and self leveling...in fact they used them for TV coverage of horse racing for decades.
