Now looking to add to the stable.............got room for one more car.
To add to the Maserati 4200 and the Quattroporte now looking for a Ferrari 360 Modena or a F430 Coupe. Preferably in Red wit F1 box. Cash waiting as they say in the adverts!
If anyone knows of one for sale the I can be there in seconds...........well hours but you know what I mean.

Best of luck with your search.
Forza sold mine within two weeks.

Yes I know, I spotted it for sale, I hadn't got the cash until my business was sold.....and it sold two weeks too late!
Searching for a good Ferrari 360 of F430 at the right price with the right upgrades on it looks like it is going to be a long job.
Any leads guys I would be most grateful for.

a 42 and a QP and now wanting a fez...........some people are just plain greedy:saifi3:

I have driven scruffy motors for years, always wanting to put my spare cash back into the business. The 4200 I bought last July was my first "nice motor". I had finally decided it was time to retire!

Good on you Phil.

I'm beginning to toy with finding a 612 Scaglietti which is looking like a bargain right now.

Happy searching.

They are cheap because they just don't look right IMHO. I'd go back a generation and look at a 456/550/575 myself.

I know what you mean, I quite like them but there is something Porsche like about them which seems wrong!

To be honest there has always been something ugly about the front of them so I agree with you.
Still beauty is subjective!!

I like them (obviously). I think lots of modern Ferraris don't look right. The California, 599, F430, F360 all have their design flaws. It's the lure of a proper V12, 4 seater that I like. As well as the back.

If money was no object, it would be an FF for me and that doesn't look right either!

I really like the FF. Understand why you want a 12. As for mid engined cars, Ferrari have a lot to learn from Lambo as to how to design them - the 458 has a terrible profile IMHO.

There are a lot of well respected specialists around but even though he isn't local to me I sourced my 360 Spider through Tim Walker at Walkersport and I cannot recommend him highly enough. http://www.clubscuderia.co.uk is probably the Ferrari equivalent of SportsMaserati and he is well respected on there.

If you are set on a F1 box then it is probably worth stretching to a 430, personally I went for a manual 360 as I didn't want the cluttered steering wheel etc.,.. and I marginally prefer the look of the 360. Also don't forget as the 360/430 were designed from the outset to be both a coupé and spider the open car is worth considering there is no scuttle shake to speak of in my Spider it is a different world from my GS Spyder.

It is worth considering other colours TDF blue is also a great colour and good for resale as well for example.

Agreed, I had been looking for a 550 before I bought my 360, I looked at a manual 612 but didn't think it would age as well. I am flying over to Belfast tomorrow to look at a 2 owner sensible mileage manual 456 in what is IMHO a nice colour combination, so I might be scratching that V12 itch after all!

Your right Team GCR Tim Walker bought my 456 GTA.
Absolute gentlemen and his Ferrari knowledge second to none.

I wouldn't want a 456 that was not a Modificato version. The problems with items such as the rear shocks, window lifters and air-con unit in the early cars are an expensive and repetitive nightmare.

The 612 is a huge step forward. For £20k more you get a massively better and more modern car when compared to the 456. Though not as pretty.

Agree re the M designation 456 - which is why I asked - but by then the 550 was out and most M cars are auto (guess you knew that!)

I take the view that for anything to be truely valuable in the future it needs to be both rare and pretty....
