my 4200cc all ways seems a bit fluffy i.e. if its misfiring when pulling away, past 2000rpm it pulls like a train, the car is new to me but it drives lovely

Sounds just like a lazy clutch, the 4200 was never known for its low down power and Maserati were always on Ferraris case about it.....suppose the V6 Turbos have put that right, but the main thing with the 4200 is that it is on song above 5k rpm.....the way it should be!

Are you using the sport button?

You could see about having the PIS setting checked as this will give this sort of effect if its too high

Get the gearbox parameters reset at your local Indy and get them to reset the PIS point as well. That may well pep it up a bit.

You can cycle the gearbox with SD2/3 where it relearns its parameters, I think that's what they were suggesting.

Hows the weather over there, it's gone cr@p here in the UK again?

Weather here is just right for me. 34C yesterday :)

Curry for breakfast is a great idea as well :D

Yes, sure you can reset the gearbox to the factory defaults using an SD2/3. There was a thread in another place implying that the PIS/KIS needed regular adjustment at the service to keep in top performance. Doesn't smell right to me, personally.

Had lovely weather up until 2 day - drizzle 18c, we need rain

Better improve by the time I get over (UK) there mid July .............otherwise I may have to keep inflaming the rumors that summer doesn't exist :)

Anything happening Masa wise around that time?

I'd expect anyone with a SD2/3 to be able to set defaults. I guess that a dealer *might* have more experience of 'better' settings than default, but that may well be totally wrong on my part.

Hi all,

Can anyone recommend a specialist in South West/West Midlands who could check and maybe reset my PIS?

Thanks

Think the place in Cardiff is open now but havent heard much about them - tiny place mind! I'm probably closer to Migliore so will give them a ring.

Just my thoughts, but Check the MAF sensor. Also check all piping from the air box is sealed.
