As my motorbike instructor told me, a lifetime ago, there's bugger all point in being right if you're lying mangled in a heap on the road.

Phil is surely being provocative in his post. The lycra clad gayboys are clearly in the wrong. The lorry driver couldn't move out as he had traffic on the outside lane. The cyclist was lucky he wasn't killed or worse chafed his immacced legs...

I have said they were both in the wrong mate. He was pulled up so had he used his mirrors he would have known there were bikers there. He also accelerated too! The way he got out of the cab do agressively suggest that he also knew what was going on.

Im an ex cyclist. I stopped after being run over for the 3rd time none of which were my fault.

1st i was over taken by a car who then turned sharp left in front of me leaving me nowhere to go but into their nearside wing and across the bonnet. The driver accused me of speeding ! Thankfully the police witnessed that episode so there was some immediate education for the driver involved.

2nd. The driver turned right then put his foot down as i was riding down the opposite side of the road and t-boned me. Again not my fault.

3rd. Some one let their mate have a drive in his RS turbo escort who promptly ragged it down the road and drove into by back wheel while i was riding down the road. The force threw me across the road and into the path of a double decker bus. Thankfully i ended up with my legs under the middle of the bus and the bus driver was quick to jump on the brakes.

I always give cyclists a wide berth when overtaking and i only do so if its safe to do so.

I also learnt that i bounce well but im not risking a 4th accident.

As for the head cam footage posted the cyclist should have taken it to the police rather than put it on facebook and youtube.

At least if they had gone to the police they could have been educated as to why they were in the wrong and why they should obey the highway code and ride safely for their benefit and the benefit of other road users and pedestrians.

I dont have a problem with cyclists at all. I do have a problem with cyclists that do not ride in a safe manner with a view to ensuring their own safety and those of the people around them.

Likewise the same applies to car / truck / bus drivers.

Much like with this one

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=GW9IfSnfXoE

Some years ago I was on the M1 in a queue 1/2m from an exit , a car came past on the hard shoulder, then another , then another , it was an epidemic of knob heads

As I got closer to the slip road I saw a copper at the top walking down a line of cars with his notebook , cars further down but still on the hard shoulder tried to get back in lane one but there was a collective you can **** right off as all the gaps got closed pretty sharpish

Selfish bastards , it might be your family waiting for the ambulance stuck behind them

Yesterday I was the subject of a torrent of abuse from a cyclist - who quite frankly thought his 8stone Lycra clad body made him invincible.

Following said cyclist along a residential street he pulled out - without looking into the middle of the road, his 'head down **** up' pose as his puny frame attempted to push him and his racing bike up a hill.

I was in a 4x4 following so backed off the gas, pulled out to give him room, I didn't overtake as there was someone coming down the road and a delivery lorry parked in the opposite carriage way.

I didn't even manage to get level with him, but he sensed my approach, I had to brake because he was in the middle of the road. The four letter expletives from him I will leave out.

Not in a rush I let everyone go cyclist included and over took him when the road widened and it was safe, more abuse and the bird.

Why? - I gave him room, I gave way to him there is no doubt I was more aware of what and where he was doing than he was

Not all cyclists are knobs - this one was.

This just popped up in my you tube feed. Mike Hawthorn in a D Type giving a commentary around Le Mans in 1956. Lovely.
