It is rather subjective...if you are used to a travel lodge and stay in a poor ****star yout may be impressed...a bit like buying a Korean car expecting it to be poor as its so cheap and being satisfied...or buying a rollsroyce and being disappointed because of a small squeak.

Oh yes Have a look at what she wrote for Down Hall Country House Hotel, near Bishops Stortford... It wasn't the finest experience!

It's a great shame - the architecture is superb. The setting is fabulous. One of the receptionists is so good she deserves a medal. The rest of the experience is grim beyond belief. There aren't many places I've been served three 1cm cubes of potato with dinner, effectively uncooked. That was apparently a portion of vegetables, not in nouvelle cuisine land, but in the ordinary restaurant there.
