Where are all the cheap GranTurismos?

Groundhog day really as prices of early cars seem to have been stuck for at least 18 months. Cheapest on both AT and PH is £32,500.

I guess part of it is down to the reduced volume of sales as the economy turned down which as the economy now recovers means that there is excess demand for used cars and few around. The impact, though, is that the price pack is being heavily compressed to the point where a £35k car and a £45k car are vastly different in age/engine size terms.

Have to agree...I bet the trade price has fallen but the sale prices are being kept high but as newer cars approach the £40k window it makes older 4.2 look expensive.

I bought my first 4200 with 50k on the clocks for £23 when it was five years old...would love to get a 4.2 with the same milesifor that price...I shall watch the flying pigs whilst I wait for this to happen over the next 12 months.

I think the issue is that as the cars have got more reliable and Maserati brought in the ZF auto, the pool of potential buyers increased and took residuals up with it. Priced against an Aston Martin, the early 4.2 GTs still look ok.

That one on AT at 32500 looks lovely to........Worth a look if in the market...Sold by ADG previously by the looks of things.

Having bought a 4.2 last May I'm very glad that prices are staying solid! I'd been looking for a while before I bought and prices didn't change much through the 12 months or so before that.

UNless the miles are sky high then I don't think these cars will drop much...They are still very desirable and those looks als help......

Mine has been absolutely perfect... done 25k.... I'm of the opinion these are going to be pretty solid - other than regular maintenance up to at least 60k.... and then I guess it depends on what sort of a life they've had...

There have been a few around still looking good at well over 100k... be interested to look at their history files...

I suspect it might be much the same as the early 4.2 QP's... without the transmission hassles..

Well at my rate of addition, the car will be nearly 15 years old when it hits 100k miles.

I'm interested in how long the pads/discs will last. Looking at mine I'm guessing about 40k miles. Not looking forward to the bill!
