Wheel spacers

So....Wheels are strong enough, studs/bolts have sufficient design safey factor, suspension seems to be likewise sufficiently robust, camber, trail are ok and toe in is adjustable in any case.only one left is a slight reduction in suspension travel - also negligible.

Would there be a significant engineering reason to prefer 15 over 20 or 22?

Not seeing it.

However working on people's natural tendency to be cautious and the cost of holding stock in various sizes it makes sense to see what sells and then limit the range to the best sellers?

If the distance from the hub face is 50mm then a 15mm spacer will increase the load on the hub fixings by 30%. A 22mm by 44%. Thats a fair difference in my view. No one has ever reported a wheel falling off, so pay your money and take your choice.

I'm not home just now and although I do have pics I'm blower if I can find them. Not sure about this cloud computing, more like fog computing if you ask me!

That was my though. 15mm kept mine just inside the body line looks good.
Word of caution. I was very used to the feel and size (width) of my car. Within 2 days of fitting spacers I had kerbed 2 wheels !

Before and after. Certainly glad I went 15mm and not 20plus.

First of all this is THE BEST PROFILE pic of before an after I have yet to see someone take of there spacers....most of the time people take them from a distance and you cannot see any difference so GOOD WORK.......being said I wonder if someone has the 25mm read from this profile for us to see...that is what I am on the fence about.

Buy 25mm and fit them. It needs more IMO - there's plenty of room. If you dont like it, take them to a machine shop and have them take 5-8mm off. Simples...!? :p

Maybe you bought the wrong car!
I put 3" spacers on the rears only once.

Reliant Robin back in ' 76. Does that count?

It was an idea to stop it tipping over in corners. Marginal success as it just allowed me to increase the speed at which it waved it's legs in the air :)

If you want to fill the arches and give the car a look that carries more "volume", the wheels need to stop hiding under the arches...!
Maserati have them set very conservatively. You are messing with their geometry when you start adding spacers ...Why spend money on over engineered spacers and do half a job?
Okay..I'll relent...25mm fr, 30mm rr !! :thumb3: :D
