Wheel alignment

This winter has played havoc with our roads and with councils strapped for cash there may well be a delay in repairing, what in some instances can only be described as craters. I have just had my wheel alignment done but fear it maybe money down the drain given that the car takes a hammering with the amount of potholes it has to deal with in a day.

I think slowly does it with sports mode switched off is the order of the day

Hi,

I'm sure that the state of the roads are the reason that my Airbag warning light has come on probably jolted a connector loose with one of the horendous bangs when droping 3 inches into a hole in the road. But it also made me think about alignement, especially after spending £120 on a full geometry only a few months back.

Nick HR Owen said that the current crop of potholes will almost certainly knock wheels out of alignment if not treated with respect. They also suggested turning off sports mode when riding these kind of roads

Urban, where the **** is the sport turn off button never heard of such a thing you having a laugh trying to make me go looking

I keep looking to see if I can find the remnants of a meteorite in the base of the ones I come across, but so far no luck. The brake pad/fluid warning light comes on if it's a particularly bad one, and then goes off after about 30 secs... at first I thought it must be a pothole warning light!

Fortunately ive been really lucky so far this winter because i know where most of the local ones are , and managed to miss most by constantly swerving out the way , just expecting to get pulled over any minute for the eratic driving it must look ludicrous from a distance sort of like a spyders scrawl , i'll probably get caught out eventually going somewhere new like to Emblem od Sat morning.
