What polish - Auto finesse

I went back to Autoglym Super Resin after years of being neglected and was amazed. Sure it's white chalky residue is a pain to remove but it is a polish so hence is abrasive.

Give it a go you will see what I mean.

3m Ultrafina compounds are the next stage further if you want to cut deeper, finished with blue is a must.

I then seal with Autoglm HD wax then finish with Demon Shine.

I think after 10 years of serious car detailing I have found a system that works for me.

Intermediate waxes I still use Harleys as it's quick so you can continue using your Dodo

After correcting the paint i use 3M Ultrafina with blue pads, the 3M Products are great!Chemical Guys V36 cutting polish,V38 Optical final polish.Black Light is also a really good polish/glaze.Tried some AutoFinesse polish but i didn't really get on with it,felt like it dried out in the pads, tried it with both rotary and DA polishers

I also use the 3M range. Yellow, green and blue polishes with the corresponding pads. I then have a few different waxes like Collinite and the usual Meguires stuff etc.
I'm no expert at all but I think I did a good job of my last car and will be repeating the process on my 4200 in the spring.

I've found detailing world quite helpful.

Personally i have tried almost all wax you can imagine but still use collonite, its rock hard and leaves no residue - bit old school but lasts for ages and very shiny.

With polishing compounds there are loads of guides out on the net but a quick tip - always start with the lightest compound first and if that does not work go coarser - dont start with coarse as you may not need it.

I use Menzerna compounds on a rotary, but would start with a DA first - rotary will burn your paint very quickly!

this is using a DA with collonite

Historically always used Autoglym products I do find they give a good finish but the residue will be a pain on the black Giulietta so will be looking at alternative options

maybe late but I used Auto Finesse and been to them and from results and what I seen way over priced. I could recommend others that I found really good almost in comparison to Zymol but if your happy with Dodo Juice then stick with them otherwise try some Zymol or start looking into nano products - GTechniq Exo is really good only down side is you dont get the gloss from what waxes can provide

The Alfa is done with auto finesse Andy. Two stages and then finished with Farecla G3 wax. I would have done the 3 stages but working 7 days a week I was limited for time and had to do it over a few days. I will try and do the 4200 before brunty time permiting but i may use dodo supernatural hybrid instead or as well as the Farecla G3 wax.

If your using a DA with the auto finesse if it starts to feel a little dry on the pad just give it another squire of pad primer. The same would apply for other products but it was fairly warm when i was working with it and only had to do this a couple of times in awkward areas..

The Farecla clay mitt is quite good as well for £13. it will remove the bulk of contaminents and you can then clay bar where necessary.
