Nice to have Maserati forum that is not beholded to rip off sponsors.
Just need to get the volume of information up as soon as posible and i hope to help by reposting some of my maserati forum posts, well the few where i have been able to add some semi-technical advice

What do you mean by beholden to Rip-Off sponsors? I'm surprised by your comments as any commercial entity needs to make a living (profits etc), and there are two sides to every story. It just seems a tad harsh that your first post is talking about sponsors in a negative way.

Can you honestly tell me that every sponsor who joins this forum has never fallen out with a customer over a billing issue?? We work with many of the specialists and franchises, and believe me, its a subjective topic, but we've found there's always two sides to an issue.

I just thought you shouldn't generalise as there are a lot of businesses out there doing their very best for customers

Best to leave what happens on other forums behind, we are starting with a clean slate here.

All I will say is that we do not need funding, the core members put their hands in their own pockets to bring you this FREE forum, all we ask is that you support us, no more.

We have invited certain sponsors that bring a valuable service to ensure your Maserati is well cared.

I second that and to set the record straight the sponsors here are invited and remain here only on the basis of the service they have provided in the past and I feel sure the service they will provide in the future. This is a new beginning. We need you guys to support the forum and keep us happy and we need the specially invited few to keep our cars happy. That way everyone is happy

I'm sure that there are businesses that are doing there very best for customers, It’s just my view that there are also a lot that aren’t.

..and yes there are always two sides to an issue but that does not preclude one being wrong or even sometimes indefensible.

However my views should be and are only based on my own personal experiences and others should base their judgements on their own experiences. I can only hope that theirs are less annoying and expensive than mine have sometimes been.

Agreed guys, this had been a big bone of contention on a certain other site.......if we can stick to only naming those providers whose reputation is beyond reproach then for both sponsors and/or service providers we can avoid too many negative words, stories and other frustrating experiences which colour members view of the marque!

Our forum is your forum, if it comes to a point where the advertising becomes a problem, it will be removed.

I trust you feel we are being transparent enough for you?

As stated above, we make no money from advertisers here, the monies come from the core individuals own pockets. They are here only to give you an alternative way or keeping your Maserati experience as cost effective as possible.

I think that what you are doing here and your philosophy on sponsors is great.

I hadn’t really meant to stir up anything, especially in my first post on this forum.

Although it did bring a slight wicked smile to my face when I realised what I had inadvertently started.
So I won’t be saying any more on the subject.

Nick, it perfectly alright, like I said, we need transparency, and the sponsorship debate had to happen sometime, so best to get it out of the way.

Our forum is going to be very loosely moderated, so you should have no need to apologise.

Nick we are all aware that there are many dealers/indies that have caused upset in the past and we are going to do our best to keep this site free of them. Equally, we are not stupid or naive enough to believe that there is someone who won't have a gripe with even one of the selected few we have invited. Thats inevitable.

The ones that have been invited, have over the past proven themselves to provide a service to most of us, which hopefully can benefit us all.

We want to build a forum here for the benefit of all of our members. Remember that the sponsors are here not because they are paying us. We have invited them here for free in the hope that we can build a reliable data base of service and sales up and down the country.

If we end up making a mistake on the way to achieving this, we will waste no time in correcting it.

When it comes to buying a Maserati we can only advise that one gets it independently checked even if it has been bought through one of the invited dealers.

When it comes to servicing your car we hope that we will be able to provide a reliable source based on recommendations and not I repeat on paid sponsorship.
