Probably, but I cannot imagine it will make financial sense. The factory method doesn't look technically difficult, just fiddly. And chance of success is low as I suspect the gearbox is now screwed. But I might give it a try at some point

you should of bought makita and now probably cheaper (better) just to buy a new one, always loads of deals from screwfix and toolstation
