im a tom tom user......the basic £90 one does the job for me and i see this as a marketing priced item.....

good nav, never fails, unlike garmin that we used when at the meet with UM, it never took us to the hotel, wanted us to jump over a bridge to get there.....

what does it do differently?? is it just the image comes up?? it aint kim doing the voice is it??

No different apart from the screen bit that comes up when you turn on I think.

You can hack the boot image very easily. I will do the image and a how to guide if anyone is interested?

1st, here is the image file:



Save this to your computer then go here:

http://tomtom.gps-data-team.com/splash_screen.php

Upload the file, then choose your TomTom version and it will create the bmp file for you.

Connect your TomTom to your PC, then browse the hardisc and locate the bmp file and overwrite it with your new file, of the same name, job done.

Here is the file for my TomTom 510 GO, you must still use the url above to convert it to the correct .bmp format:
