Don't get too excited....I do mean quite literally (from my hotel window)!

For my first time to the far east, I've been quite impressed with Kuala Lumpur after 3 days here....done a couple of touristy things, amazed at how modern and clean the city is and although the price of things like clothes etc are shockingly expensive, there's nothing a bit of bartering can't sort...for instance, I was in a Tommy Hilfiger store today and mentioned that the prices were more than in the UK for the three shirts I was looking at. I was then offered 40% off...just like that (no effort - just for asking!)... Hilfiger shirts for Next prices!

Anyway, my point is....other than just showing off lol....is that I thoroughly recommend this place for a 3-4 day stop-off if anyone visits the far east.

We're off to Thailand tomorrow for a week on the beach...I'll see if I can get myself a bargain tailor made suit!

It's going to be a hard week ;)

Ha ha, surely they can't tax you if your wearing them all, just remember not to have the receipts on you, post the home.

The towers look amazing. I did something similar last year, I went to Dubai and went up that tower thing, high was not even close and we only went a little over half way up, loved Dubai though, brilliant:

That tower is insanely high isn't it! We went to the top of the Petronas towers yesterday (after queuing for 2.5 hours at 7am!) and whilst they were the tallest in the world until a few years ago, they're still a good 150 meters less than the Burj in Dubai.

We're going to Dubai in July (nobody going there in July as it's too hot so thought I'd take advantage of the relatively cheap offers...what's a bit of sunburn when you can save hundreds ;)) so will have to check those out!

Well, KL was surprisingly nice, much better than I thought (how modern it was is what impressed me most...I'm not one for historical places!).

But things have taken a turn...I mean, just look at what I've had to endure since arriving at my resort in Thailand yesterday.....

Im just sat looking at this...I think I might stretch my legs and arms and pop over for beer now :D

Seriously, other than being a tw@t and showing off, I've got to say if anyone ever considers a beach holiday to Thailand then give this place a look (Indigo Pearl, Phuket)...as resorts go, it's the best I've stayed in. Its one of the best rated on Trip Advisor and sat here, I can see why...although it's quite a way out from the busier spots of Phuket (which might not be a bad thing) and its not all-inc which means the swim up bar is getting pricey! :drinks: (By the way, this is far from ridiculously expensive...a few days in a European city would have been much more than getting to and staying at this resort!)

No doubt once I've had a few more beers I'll continue to be annoying and post up more photos for you guys in tropical Blighty ;)

I did :)

Got to the pool at 11am, left at 5pm. It's about 40 degrees, largely unbroken sunshine for 80% of the day and I'm now....knackered lol! We're 6 hours ahead so it's bed time for me...got to be up early for a speedboat and kayak trip to James Bond island in the morning...the one off 'The Man With The Golden Gun' where Scaramanga and Nik Nak had a secret lair in one of the rocks on the island (one of the reasons a sad b@stard like me wanted to come out here!)

Oh, Parisien....talking of suits earlier in the thread - I've just been reading some adverts on a map I got earlier and theres quite a few tailors advertising. The best offer so far is for 1 cashmere suit, 2 summer suits, 3 pairs of trousers and 4 shirts...all made to measure and all for us$129! Mmm...tempting but I'd never wear most of that so I'll just go for the us$59 suit from the shop that specialises is Boss/Valentino/Versace and Armani cut....I wonder if they come with the branded logos? Still, can't be much worse than a genuine Boss suit...I bought my first one that lasted 6 months and my second one lasted even less time! OK, I tend to wear them everyday but I've had Next suits cost 4x less and last 3-4x as long.

And heres what entertained me yesterday....anyone recognise this from the Bond film 'Man with the Golden Gun'?

It's where the 'laser' popped out from the rock lol!

And here's the beach Bond landed his seaplane on...

And the entrance to Scaramanga's lair....

The odd thing is that the glass sliding doors to the lar (and the inside of it) appear not to exist ;)

And there's nobody about with a third nipple or any midgets called NikNak....how very disappointing.

Other than that, all is pretty much as seen on the film some 30 years ago! (and if you've never seen that Bond movie you'll have no idea what I'm on about!)
