Only sure in as much Matt ( conaero) has said it repeatedly & in the context of wheel/tyre damage from sidewall stiffness.
BFG Goodrich are Michelin as I understand it….( acquired them in 1990 )
Knowing that, I find it unlikely it’s Pirelli tbh!
This was back in the 4200 days, the Pirelli were terrible due to the stiffened sidewall….hit a pothole and it splits the top of the tyre, leaving you stranded. Vreds did exactly the same thing. They were Giugario designed (as on the side of the tyre) so made the Italian/Pirelli connection and put two and two together.

As I said this was a long time ago and may not have the same parallels nowadays.
