Morning. Day 2 of being a London Tourust, it’s a crazy place

The First Dates restaurant in St Paul’s was very good, much smaller than it looks on the telly and none of the staff surprise surprise they are all actors.

In for a wet day today, back home tomorrow.

Morning everyone!
I beat the rain on my bike. I have new tyres that claim "no more punctures". We'll see how long that lasts!

Morning all. Office for a bit this morning, then off to the hospital with Joseph as he needs to have a head scan, nothing serious, but they are doing it as a precaution.
Then back to the grindstone after.

Morning all , I spent last night in my garage with a tape measure trying to work out how to get the new arrival in it . Its going to take some lateral thinking .
Mainly moving the washing machine from the far end into the kitchen and then making a rather large full width shelf at the end of the garage from joists to make a platform above the car bonnet for the tumble dryer and a small fridge sized freezer to sit on .

I wont be beaten .....

Morning, all.

Good luck and best wishes to those in, or on their way to, hospital.

Dropped the Fiat back at the garage again today to get the cause of its stubbornly recurrent CEL sorted. It has new plugs and coil last week, so I suppose they'll gradually work through until we have a new car. Trigger's broom.

MrPea tell me more about the no punctures business
Schwalbe Marathon Plus. £26-ish each. They're a bit heavier than some others, but then they do have quite a serious amount of rubber on them. First impressions this morning were that I went over a LOT of wet splintered wood (someone had decimated a hedge with a giant tractor-mounted 'trimmer' beside the cycle path and not attempted any clearup), good rolling resistance and a very slightly harsher ride. The latter could be that they were running 5-10psi higher than the old tyres. They took quite some time to mount as they're quite loose on the rims so I kept getting edges that wanted to pop off as I inflated them, but eventually got there. Hopefully I won't be taking them off and on very often if they live up to their promise! They also have a really good reflective stripe around the tyre-walls, which I like.

Surely its no bigger than your 4200? or was that relegated to outside? I freed up a garage for mine this year with the intention of having somewhere under cover to work on it over the winter, No chance, all I can do to get in and out of it let alone any room to actually get around it to do any work, will have to go outside and hope the weather improves before I can do anything!

My firmly held view is that small garages are not good for cars. Sure, they keep the dust and bird muck off, but unless a car gets some air round it and can breathe it'll get damp, rusty and the electrical gremlins will move in. Either get a spacious, airy, heated garage or keep it outside.

I agree.
Even built at our last house a 30 square meter garage, double skinned, but no heating being away from the house and I suffered from condensation.
At the time, kept my Stag in a 'Permabag' over winter.
Current garage, last 10 years, is built under the house, partly underground, insulated garage doors, warm with kitchen above, don't get any condensation at all, perfect storage conditions.
