The good morning thread

Working from home, 'twas an early start with a call with faraway lands. Also need to finalise the tedious Chinese visa application process, which includes proving a detailed itinerary of air and rail travel, accommodation and God knows what else. Suffice to say none of it was actually booked, so much research in the best way to get from A to B without passing congested border points, crossing vast cities to catch another train from a distant station, not passing go and not collecting £200.

Dan! - how's work?

I've told you before pay someone like Ross consular services to do the VISA's for you. All I've ever done is sent my passport and some photos to them and a week later they send it back with the VISA. Job done, not trips to any London embassies needed and no stress.

Also the So EVL plate actually wins people over, they actually commented on it.

Morning all, needless to say Ferries to Ireland are no easier than flights but got there eventually - flat now looks better, Hi Fi installed, Guitar and Amp installed, Playstation installed - have I missed anything?

I'm using Hillgate, but they still need the forms filled in, signed, passport photos done, itinerary sorted out. They can cut some wider lines round the rules than I can, but some requirements they can't side-step.

Also the So EVL plate actually wins people over, they actually commented on it.

I like it, just makes me laugh to see smiling brides all gowned up in white with the So Evil number plate behind them.

Morning crew. Work then curry and beer in Eastleigh tonight.

Newly refurbished wheels went back on the Brera last night and they do look rather smart. Needless to say I will be doubly careful when parking with these as the effort was quite immense.

Next job, fix one water leak and give the engine a soak test, fit a check valve to the fuel line as the warm starting may be due to the fuel seeping back down into the tank.

Found the issue with the knocking exhaust...the donut that fitted the new DPF (yes, we know who you are) fitted it 180 degrees round the wrong way so it bashed the gas line out of the DPF. Thankfully its not chipped through the gas line.

Next up...strip the car for paint and get it over to Phil.

Corrected position:

Good morning.
We had a few drops of rain yesterday for the first time since about April.
Still a bit dull today but the forecast is good.
Cycle ride to shops beckons

Morning all. Late start today as Alex went to the chiropractor this morning so I looked after Joseph for an hour or so, which was great as he just fell asleep whist Jeremy Kyle was on (where do they find those people?).

And then the nicest thing happened as I waved him goodbye. He waved back. The first time he's done that!
Only a small thing but was a very special moment for me.

Hopefully will be able to pick my bike up from the local bike shop later so I can get on with more training for my Prudential Ride London 100 in 19 days! Got my start time and number yesterday so sh*t just got very real!

If you be so kind as to sponsor me you can at https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/markbuckland73

Those who have already. Thank you very much.

Picked up The GT following her annual. Clean bill of health.
Praise be.
Returned the Levante Courtesy car, thank goodness. As bad as they look.

Remember the small time vandalism event recently?
Today 09.30 I received a telephone call from the Inclusion Officer at the local school following a vandalism event recently some may recall. (I sent a second email yesterday asking for an update)
It seems the suspect lost his journal some time ago and had it replaced and he knew nothing about the episode. He also has a clean record at the school and is not a suspect. So we do not know who the miscreant was and the Inclusion Officers have patrolled the areas at school exit times. Of course the little darlings are nowhere to be seen!
If I had a photograph of the villain it may have been different but then a whole new area opens up about me taking photographs of Children.............
So it has taken about 3 weeks without a satisfactory conclusion (a bit like Brexit), but the school have pumped up the 'Be good citizens' propaganda.
I went along to my neighbours and reported. They were not impressed but as seems to be normal these days the injured party suffers more than the perpetrator.
The fence is fixed at a small cost to the owner and it looks good and robust.
Until next time

Thanks Phil

Yup very pleased. I've been expecting brakes since I bought her and that's two years now. Still fine.
No variator signs either.
They fixed a headlamp washer (flush gunge out), checked passenger window actuators, replenished fluids (not a drop of oil used since last annual.. astonishing) a thorough health check and MOT.
Generously discounted hourly rate quoted to fit the Larini valve actuated tail pipe kit which I'll schedule.
In addition threw in two days of a Lavante Gransport FOC.
All for the price of an MOT

Ca ching £56.

Not bad eh?

Levante?

Grief. It shows it's origins.
Impressive cornering and road handling.....tested over the top lanes here over the Wolds.... Ghibli chassis and Skyhook..... pretty acceptable.
Chrysler/Jeep turbo diesel..... dreadful. Ditto American tat interior, brain dead alarms....ding ding ding, ping ping...... yeah i know. Stupid proximity alarms. I'd got three pinging away at once. WTF.

Stupid childish muscle car growl when in Sport. Sport needed most of the time to get it to respond but the silly sound effects annoy and embarrass so switch it off.

But it is what it is.... the current fashion for agressively ugly imposing barges.

Sorry Levante aficionados, badge engineering at its worst.

Oh, where did i use?

DL Swindon.

Lastly, I perceive your comments on another thread that the Parrot i920 is a waste of time on my mk1 NIT?

Good morning everyone, it's half 6 in Vancouver and I've not been to sleep since my last post. Trying to stay awake, so I don't wake up at 5am local time. The match will start at 11am for me...England shirt will be worn.

Good morning all. France through then...Good as I have the. In the sweep stake along with Croatia. So if they win tonight I pocket the cash before the final is played.
