No idea about lamba sensors but those look a fair bit grottier than (seven of) mine; your change was well timed.

Thanks for the replies, it's defo got 8 plugs and they should all fire now they are tight!

Agree. They did look pretty poor nick, the schedule says another 2k before changing but it is only a couple of hours pottering in the garage.

I'll report if it has made much difference with clean performance plugs.

Nice dry roads in Leicestershire / Staffordshire today

I remember getting mine changed more often as they don't seem to last as long as schedule stated.....cheap way to ensure engine it kept in tip top condition

Cheers, the annual mileage it now does the plugs would have been there for 5+ years.

You're right to swap them out more often, the money we spend on other running costs this is relatively pennies.

Cheers and have a good weekend.

One of mine went after 15k / four years. When were yours last done; at 31k major service? If so may be due.

Have 47k miles on my 3200. Can't see any record of it having spark plugs changed.
Car is running great.
Would there be any need to change the plugs ?
Car is a 2000 manufacture.

What plugs are recommended for the 4200/GS? I don't know when mine were last changed. Given the performance mods I wonder if I should look at plugs to suit?

Stick a set of Denso Iridiums in. They have worked well in mine for the last 25k miles. All the gen is in the pic at #1.

New technology plugs do last a bit longer than before, but to play safe I would change at no more than 20K..!!

I've got another set on standby but I've had absolutely no problems with the ones that are in. As an experiment, I think I'll leave them and see how many miles they will do before they start playing up.

Plugs should be changed every 2 years on the service, so as long as you have a full service history the plugs will have been regularly changed.

Don't think so, I know one Denso guy had issues, resolved when back to NGKs

P

I know a few customers who will not use denso... Only NGK or OE from dealer.. Some Renaults will only run properly on Equem plugs...
I can check when im back in work the spec of the NGK and if they do an equivalent iridium... Standard are platinum i think...

Manufacturer states 30,000 miles on the plugs, they are extremely impressive. Maserati recommend every 3 years with the timing belt change as far as I remember? I have just crossed 50k miles and on my second set of plugs, first lot came out and looked immaculate!

Plugs should be changed every 2 years on the service, so as long as you have a full service history the plugs will have been regularly changed.
