Finally got round to addressing the hunting / air leaks.

There were leaks from;
The plate on the bottom of the manifold - the shoe lace gasket was about 1mm too short and you could see where it was coming out of one corner.
Around the throttle body.
The manual says you are supposed to "glue" the gasket on, but the new McGrath ones are tricky to get to fit. I used some flexible gasket round the edge to seal any gaps.

There is still a small one from one of the three bolts that hold it on but a quick dab of gasket should fix that.

I did manage to snap the last of the black screw in unions in the back of the manifold !!!
Quick email to David Askew and he is sending me one of the brass 3200 ones, which i plan on fitting with the manifold in place.....

Might drive it this weekend !!

Nearly fixed....

No air leaks however it still hunts but....

The revs go up and down, as they come back down there is click from the Carbon Canister, quite loud if you feel the canister you can feel the click.

Likely culprit ?

Biggest time saving device I ever bought!
Just wish I'd got one 20 years earlier when I was chasing boost and vacuum leaks weekly lol

Unfortunately, these machines don't appear to be interchangeable in their use...........
I tried many times to utilise my (disco) smoke machine for engine leaks, but the smoke would always condense in the pipes and disappear before it got anywhere useful. lol
And I don't think smoke tester, will produce a dense enough cloud to do my garage lasers justice.
