Seat belt warning

Ok so after having fixed one warning about a bulb out which happened to be a loose connection on the rear number plate bulb left I have tried to look at the intermittent but always present seat belt warning.

The alarm sounds mainly when cornering but can be stopped when putting pressure on the red release button on the buckle. The red light on the DIS is also lit when the alarm chimes.

I tried cleaning inside the belt buckle with contact cleaner but after a few minutes it comes back. Do I need to find a new belt buckle and fit it? Or is there some wires I can cut to disable the sensor?

Thanks in advance

I'd unbolt it. Probably comes apart, and there's a switch inside.

New ones are only about £35 though.

Apparently there are two plugs inside the buckle. I need to get the right one pulled one of them goes into the pretensioner charge! :D

Resolution

Ok here is an update and some info for any future problems with these seat belt warnings.

Under the seat at the front there are two plugs.

The first one looks like this and consists of many wires for the precharge and airbag so I didn't want to mess with this.

The second one consists of a blue and black cable and this is the seat belt warning sensor. Simply disconnect the plug so it looks like this.

Sorted no more chimes when going round corners!
