Sales advice question

A good friend of mine has moved out of the UK and is looking to sell his 2013 QP. How much is a V6 petrol worth realistically these days. It is dark navy blue, black leather seats, 37k miles and perfect Maserati history. The car isn’t an immaculate show dog but has been well care and maintained as money never was an issue. Webuyanycar offered £22k
Also given that he doesn’t live in the UK anymore, do you recommend anybody to take care of the sale for him? Some sort of consigned arrangement of the likes.
Thanks in advance

QPs are notoriously hard to shift, they often hang around for some time even when keenly priced not that that is much help but if the owner is not in the UK it will be even harder.

It takes a lot to upset C-man. I've been trying for two years and haven't managed it yet :)

Edit: that I know of.

Looking at AT, the asking price for a well sorted V6 petrol 2013 QP w similar mileage is around £30-33k. Is it realistic to think they would shift at a 10-15% discount?

Also - do you recommend any serious broker besides Richard Grace, closer to London? Or is Richard worth the drive to Chester?

Richard is worth the drive. However, the cars he sells are mint so it may need some prep. And prep costs money.

Had you tried getting bids from specialist dealers or could you use it to px for a car for yourself (always easier)?

Otherwise if I was him I would rip WBAC's arm off - left the country, economy stalling, no one buying big engined saloons, Maserati on a downer, car should have a light interior with dark blue, probably a small % of his net wealth etc etc etc. Move on...especially as the new CAP will mean that WBAC will likely drop their price later the week.

WBAC value mine at £23k which I reckon is £5k tops off true trade but selling a Maser without buying another car is no easy ask.

I tried WBAC. Unless your mate has gone through the rigmarole of an in person valuation the price won’t be £22k. It will be £22k minus money for every little imperfection.

I did this with a Merc CLS a couple of years ago when a job change came with a company car. I knew it was going to be a poor customer journey but even I was a little offended by the process of mercilessly beating up what I thought was a tidy example for its age and mileage. I drove the car straight to the nearest main dealer and cut a deal for WBAC online price no bother. They price matched. For the sake of 30 minutes it’s worth calling a couple of main dealers and offering them the car. They will be able to sell it for the most money so in theory should offer the best price.

Good luck.

Agree with the logic ordinarily, trouble is Maserati dealers are very fussy and would not retail a 2013 car unless it was very special - colour, model, miles etc.

WBAC are a bunch of w4nkers and rely on desperate sellers, they will screw you over on the initial agreed on line price when you get the car to them and then put it in their auction houses BCA with all the known and undisclosed faults, real bunch of cowboys

You do realise that a nice coffee machine and a bauhaus sofa in a main dealer showroom is only a veil to hide the same behaviour and get your guard down?

That's the screaming kid sat on the posh sofa when you are trying to connect to the 'free' wifi to do a bit of work whilst you car is in for a snapped seat release knob (GranTurismo joke).
