Relay for starter - hello I hope someone can help me. My mesarati coupe 2004 cannot start and my machanic is trying to locate the Relay for the starter.
There are 2 places for the relay at the bonnet and at the boot. Anyone knows where is the relay for the starter is?

Most appreciate your help.

In the passenger footwell there's another fusebox. The starter motor relay is position M which is top left of the right most board with relays on it.

*BUT* I don't think that there's ever been a reported case of that failing. Coupled with the fact that your mechanic doesn't know where the fuse boxes are, I'm going to take a wild guess that he's not actually a Maserati specialist?

That being the case, you might want to describe what happens when you try to start you car (warning lights etc, does it actually turn over) and the gestalt wisdom of the forum may well be able to help you rather quicker.

Or not. Just a thought, like.

Welcome BTW :)

Catmanv2,
Thanks. You’re right. There are not many M138 around here and I went they because someone recommended him.

Before I sent the car to him, it started well but after long non-use, it failed to start. No sound of starting motor.

Flat Battery? If mechanic is trying to jump start that likely will not work. Need to remove it and charge it (or change it).

OK so the engine doesn't turn over at all, yes?

Are there any lights on the dashboard when you try to start it?

All of the lights? Or just some of them. I'm particularly interested in one of them....
