I live in Durban South Africa and recently we have had a tremendous heat wave with temperatures of 40degrees C.(In car was 47)
I unfortunately had to park my Spyder in the sun with the windows slightly open for about 2 hours and on returning I found my rear view mirror hanging by the mic cable .
It seems that they just gue the mirror to the windscreen. Can anyone advise if they have had the same experience and how best to re attach it to the windscreen.Super glue??
I look forward to some response.
Thanks

40°C - not bl00dy likely.

My Alfa GTV6's mirror regularly fell off. Alfa used to hand out FOC the little self-adhesive pads to stick it back on. But they never worked for long. I guess you get what you pay for.

I think a specialist window shop would be your best bet.

Hi Mitzyg,

I used to live in Pietermaritzburg and later Ramsgate down on the coast south of Port Shepstone,, I know your neck of the woods very well.

If you want to be clinical about it call out the mobile winscreen repair folk I am sure they can fix it, I used to have a Alfa GTV6's and the mirror came off as well. I just used super glue and never looked back ever. Just make sure you dont use to much adhesive relative to the contact area.

Like I said, if you want a A1 job then I am sure the mobile screen repair shops will have every correct adhesive going known to man.
