Rear suspension 4200 pointers

I have a squeak from the rear driver-side suspension that I've been told sounds like the anti-roll bar droplinks. Eurospares seems to call them tie-rods and they are about £20-something.
Item 31 on this picture...

Suspension is a black art to me, so hopefully I've got it right...

I'll get them looked at and replaced if needed, but is there anything else worth looking at at the same time with suspension?

Not sure on prices now, but I had a spring changed on my old 4200 Spyder. The part price was shocking as it had to be made in Germany, shipped to Maserati in Italy, then shipped to the dealer in Manchester.

Total price ?

£8 + vat ! The dealer had to double check and confirmed it was correct. Think it was an Eibach OE one from memory.

May be worth checking the current prices and getting the springs changed over if you're doing rear suspension work ?

You should be able to tell if it's the tie rods, just reach underneath, grab hold and see if you can feel play - mine were so bad they were loose!!

I don't know why they called it a tie rod, well I do in the general sense but I know them as stabilizer links for the sway bar, roll bar etc. I busted one going over a speed bump about a year ago. You can jack that side of the vehicle up and look to see if the ball and sockets are busted. In my experience tie rods were something different but in any case they are pretty easy to change and you won't have to take the suspension completely apart to do it either.

I've not had a chance to look at this, and need to cover about 500-1000 miles over the coming week. Is a squeaking droplink something where I can do damage to other parts just driving it around (not going crazy more a cruise than spirited runs)?

Doubt it, mate.

Thought not, but without getting underneath and looking, I can't tell from diagrams.

I'll get it looked at when I get back.
Cheers
