Hi Guys
Just an observation really. I noticed a fairly quiet but noticeable knocking from somewhere at the back of my 4200 CC and immediately started to sweat thinking of spending lots of cash on fixing expensive coilovers etc.
I took the wheels off, checked & rechecked everything that could move - no problems anywhere.
To alleviate the stress, I gave up for the day, went for a blatt, - still knocking, but idiot grinning a lot.
Got home, washed her, and when I opened the boot to chamois the shuts, it knocked!
Turns out the boot stay hinge arms are a loose fit onto their bracket on the boot lid & body and mine have become too loose!.
They waggle about and when under tension they kind of boing/donk, loud enough to hear even when driving the boot lid seems to amplify it.
I've stopped worrying, but am now deliberating best way to stop it.
Cheers
Gary
