I had a Toyota Celica 2.0 liftback. 1983. Always hankered after it’s bigger brother, the 2.8i Celica Supra, that had pop ups....

Now there's a blast from the past. Just loved these back in the day. That and a Starion.
There was a rumour at the time, cos I worked at a Mitsubishi car dealership, that it was called the Starion cos the Japs can’t can’t say Stallion...

Happy days those, riding around banking cheques in Mr. Bailey’s Mitsubishi Galant Sapporo, 2.6 at like 23 year of age, was great until the old doofer front ended it then it was back in the Hyundai box sedan...

That's rather funny. Bs k then the Japanese moved into sports cars sectors that others walked away from and cleaned up. They made some great sports cars back then.

I had a Nissan 200SX (S13) with pop ups and they were a delight. Especially when greeting other 200SXs.

Didn't someone adapt their pop-ups to do winking rather than blinking?

Glad to see most agree tha pop ups were cool. Had them on my Fiat X19 and then an Esprit Turbo.

And I bet they didn’t sell many over here with the centurion on the headrest. No wonder not heard of them on the used market.

I remember seeing the article for them bringing it out in EVO but never seen one at a dealer or for sale used.

When did you have your S13?? I used to be a regular on the SXOC when I had my skyline

Lovely car. About 1989, I think. I only had it for about a year, and three months of that it was in the garage after someone rear-ended it. I was thinking of buying one of a similar vintage a couple of years ago, but got the QP instead.
