After the 40'degree heat at Le Man classic I noticed that the leather/vinyl trim has peeled and curled in areas around my rear shelf and sunscreen. Anyone have a how to on removing the shelf somI can get it to a trimmers? Seen the 4200 guid on this and wondered if QP was similar.

Cheers

I fear this is quite a big job as I saw it being done when I had my rear window replaced. Back seats out and loads of bolts. I was told it was deliberately hard as the navtrak unit (in a 2010 4.7) is under the parcel shelf

Joy. Well I am hoping the trimmer may be able to do it with just removing the headrests.. doubt it though.

Be interested in knowing who you use - I am looking to have my rear ashtray surround retrimmed as it’s bubbling (a common issue)

I managed to fix a bubble in the dash by the airbag without the need to remove or use adhesive...
Hot air gun, cotton cloth and pin were my tools...
Heat the bubble and surrounding area with hot air, then poke a tiny hole with the pin, like fixing a blister, then using the cloth, ease the air out - a second or third pinprick may be needed, but as the vinyl cools, it shrinks and sticks back to the foam... I did this before the summer and the bubble hasn't reappeared, the pinpricks were made out of the way so no visible evidence of the repair.

Your repair may be too big or the bubble somewhere that the pin holes can't be hidden, but in the right circumstance, this may be the better option than dismantling the car and dash panel in its entirety.

Unfortunately not a bubble. It has unglued from edge and curled up on both sides of the sun blind so unfortunately I think it is a removal job. Thanks.

Update: had a chance to finally strip my rear shelf out. The info in HowardM link above to maseratilife is spot on and I can concur the side bolsters are the biggest pain in the Harris out. I managed to partially unclip the bottom first and slide a long bar up to provide more leverage and better than pulling on the leather. The wheelarch has sound deadening bonded on it so no damage or scratches. The bottom clip is vertical and the top clip horizontal and they are huge! I will post some photos when I put it back together. The navtrak is indeed installed under the shelf.

No problem. It is very straight forward apart from the side bolster. The brake light is held by 2 screws and is clipped along the edge of the shelf.
