Potential new owner - seeking the right Granturismo

Have fancied owning a Granturismo for a while. Finally got organised and hired sportshire.co.uk's 2013 Granturismo (white auto with all the carbon bits) for my wife's birthday (earlier this year) and had a weekend stay at Ynyshir (restaurant with rooms in West mid-Wales). That had the desired effect and the other half is now persuaded that this is a good idea - even she couldn't wipe the grin off her face as she drove it back to Shrewsbury alone at the end of the weekend.

Have been watching online for the right car to come up, but not yet seen it. Doesn't help that my wife has vetoed a white car as 'not practical as we live in the sticks' - half of the ones for sale on Pistonheads and Autotrader seem to be some variant of white! I would prefer full leather (not a fan of alcantara) and ideally not rosso corallo, want comfort (heated) seats, and despite knowing that the carbon bits are largely bling, I would like as much carbon as I can get. Not too fussed whether auto or MC Shift (we found the full auto fine for the weekend).

So if anyone knows of ~2013 and post cars meeting this spec coming up for sale, I would be interested to hear. Have seen the recommendations for dealers and will get in touch with the more local ones.

As others will no doubt say, speak to Richard Grace who is a sponsor on here. He knows all about these cars and is able to source ones as well as having some great examples in stock.

As above Richard Grace is the man to speak to as if he doesn't have what you want he will probably low where one is. Well respected on here.

On this forum I believe Ian996 may be looking to sell his 2016 Sport MC Auto-Shift. It's blue with black leather interior. Not far off new, with low miles. Not sure what your budget is, but I guess such a car would be mid fifties (very approximately!).

Well it looks like I have done a deal on the black 2015 MC Stradale that Hills of Lymington had for sale (the one with the slightly Marmite blue alcantara and black leather interior and carbon bonnet).

Hopefully will prove to be a good car...

Pick up on Saturday. Next steps are detailing (probably at Perfect Polish in Shrewsbury) as it has been someone's daily driver and has more swirls than you would anticipate, repopulating the toolkit which has lost some of its original contents, and working out what else might need tweaking.

Well done that's a great car........I love the interior on that one and as its black the carbon bonnet suits it to. Enjoy.

FYI, I bought my 4200 from Hills and specified that the car was to have no oil leaks. It had a leak which they fixed under their own warranty. I had no issues with the car in all 4 years of ownership.

The one with the new engine? Looks nice but none matching numbers put me off.
Yes, it had a new engine under warranty 6,000 miles ago. Given, I’ve bought it to drive, rather than as a garage queen / investment, non-matching numbers didn’t bother me that much - particularly given it has the paperwork to show that this was a Maserati sanctioned warranty replacement.

Cheers Ewan, I appreciate the plug. The car sold for a bit more than I expected.

Because knowing how hard it is to sell a normal none dicked with GTS selling one and explaining to the wider public that it had a new engine as the original went bang makes me whince and shudder.
I may be being naive - but am not planning to sell the car any time soon. Our car history is to run things for 5-10 years and so any residual value at the end of that timeframe is almost a bonus. Will take my chances on saleability then.

That's fine that suits you and as I say it's a stunning car. Each to their own and I am glad you got into a Strad. Enjoy!

Good for you. It’s hardly been dicked with if replaced by Maserati under warranty. It might be different if replaced outside the dealer network with no Maserati warranty paperwork. A lot of cars get dicked with through exhaust changes and other modifications, use of alternative parts etc. That kind of history would worry me far more.

Enjoy the car. Personally, I like the interior

Agree - wouldn’t bother me - **** happens and it’s been rectified by Maserati through their dealer network with all the paperwork.

Newbie here, hello to you all. well congratulations Tokyomb, hope you thoroughly enjoy the car. Ive had my eye on that one and other Strads for some time. hopefully in a few months ill be in a position to look a little harder. Does anyone have any knowledge or advise on the strad for sale at Jamie Robinson (Yorkshire) or any others for sale.
I have had a partial viewing on the one at Saxons.
