Matt, just taking a moment to express my thanks for the work you have done in reformatting the forum. Well done and appreciate the effort. This forum has been so helpful in helping me maintain the car to a high standard.

Is it me or the forum has been less active (nbr of posts) since the new website went live?
Or is that anecdotal?

i suspect the number seem down as you are not seeing all posts and dont have access to the hidden page(s), which i also notice some of the old member seem to have stop posting here and suspect/hope they are still here but just posting on the hidden page(s).

all new apps, sites, system have issues when implementing, its just how you handle them and think Matt and his team have done a fantastic job

Also Steve, you can select a styling similar to the old one:

Scroll to the footer and select SportsMaserati LIGHT from the Style Chooser.

Are you mobile or a desktop user? I have put up a thread here for those who want TapaTalk back:

http://www.sportsmaserati.com/index.php?threads/tapatalk-yes-or-no.26555/

I must say I am a little dissapointed in your attitude, we spend 9 months and £12k to bring you this new site, all of which was funded from the sponsors and my own pocket....for which we ask for nothing from our members.

I think it’s really impressive. The best forum I have been on , both in terms of members, website layout and navigation and wealth of information on here. Well done Matt and Co

been trying to get on with this new forum but it's so difficult to navigate around, it's set out like a dogs dinner. compared to the previous forum this is poor, why change to this?

A forum satnav is what you need Steve

Matt, many thanks to you and all others involved in the change over, there will always be some fine tuning involved in such things. I can not understand why anyone would criticise a site of this quality which is totally free. Should the time ever come where a contribution is necessary I am sure the majority would be most understanding. So let’s appreciate what is being provided for no cost to us all.

I prefer it to the old one, and conversely to the OP I find it easier to navigate through on my phone, and can now upload pics from my phone!

As a freebie, it's a pretty decent forum!

If only there was a way to block out inane thread drifts...

The more I use it the easier it is getting, but on the other hand I am not sure about how it impacts my knowledge of crop rotation in the 14th Century.

Makes no difference to me old or new now as I was using Tapatalk & am again now. I think the new site is much nicer, cleaner, sharper & better though for when I use a desktop machine.

The Maserati LIGHT styling looks extremely similar to the old site if you ask me and we are constantly tweaking. By the end of next week we should be done.

I think what people are experiencing is that it doesn’t feel like home. The old Forum was live for 8 years so any change will lose the personality but in time this place will feel like home.

80% of users access on a smartphone so the number one goal was to cater for this.

The 8 year database is 9Gb, the new one is half a gb so runs much faster as the images (8.5gb) are not stored in the database.

We still have some server errors and performance issues but I guarantee all will be fixed. My company are spending all next week (that’s another £4K of chargeable labour donated) to finalise.

You will see the recent threads on mobile has been increase in size.

The other outstanding items other than minor bugs are to get the league table back up, style the post page as the old one (you will see the quote boxes are the same and text colours are similar) plus get the unread/read colours of thread titles working....which is being a pig.

After that we will be developing a more comprehensive classified system.

If we stand still, the Forum will fade, we have to keep pushing forward to keep the site, legal, fresh and engaging.

Thank you all

Stirling efforts Matt by you and your team.
Really appreciated by me being out of the UK and able to interact freely with you all.
I manage perfectly well on a smartphone and occasionally on a laptop.

Ah-ha, now, well, Zep, THAT's the issue. Crop rotation didn't really come into popular use until the 18th Century. It was pioneered by farmers in the lowlands around the 16th Century and came into more popular use a century or two after that. Although there is a history of crop rotation in the middle east as far back as 6000BC, modern-day techniques are far more, well, recent.

I cannot find how you now post a new thread?

Go to the section you want to post in an then go for add new thread, when you click in the box it expands to allow you add a title and then the text.
