Paint protection

My baby is almost finished having her new paintwork but I am thinking of all the stones that will be impacting on her as soon as I drive her. Any one know of anyway of protecting the paintwork without going to the extreme of getting a bonnet bikini??
Cheers

Most wrappers have a transparent covering that does a great job of protecting from stone chips. If you cover the nose cone up to the panel lines, it's hard to see and will protect you from a lot of stone damage.

I have 3m stone guard on the vulnerable areas of the Tuscan, it's tough and easy to look after.

I haven't had anything put on mine; the stone chips add to the patina! I've even got a bit of battle damage from an Atom which hit the central reservation of the M6 next to me and ripped both offside wheels off. There were bits flying off all over the place and I got a nick from something. I don't think stone guard would have saved me from that bad boy!

Cheers for the remarks, been looking at something called Armourfend. Will look at the Stonegaurd, assume it is the same kind of stuff.

Roger102, would you be able to provide me the some pictures of the protection you have on the Tuscan, is it invisible or is there a line?
Cheers

I'll have a go this week, yes you can see a line but it's not in your face and I'd rather have a line than a sea of chips, you can get it replaced if it gets tired. Looked at it today, it's breaking down around the front grill in a few tiny places but it's 12 years only now.

From what I remember, the cost of these paint shields were so expensive, it would make more sense to save your money and get a bumper respray every 2 years.

However, every two years you are then faced with the problem of getting a decent paint match and that doesn't always happen. It is probably better to get it swallow the cost, get it covered and be happy that the paint on your bumper perfectly matches the rest of your car. If/when you sell, take off the covering off to reveal an almost perfect front end which makes it look like you have hardly used it and taken good care of it.

'er you go looks a bit green in these images but I believe its the trees, the inside of the 70's green garage door and the green Jag, as it's not. Camera's pic but reflected light differently.

My old 4200 had Autoshield fitted, you can just see the join inder the trident....

Did a great job of protecting against stone chips and easy to maintain.

Seriously considering fitting it to the GS.

Hope this helps?

It's SORN this year as using the masser when it works!
It's been up and down the drive once just recently to keep the seals wet and started and warmed up 3 times since last years Italy trip. 9100 miles in total. Goes back in the bubble soon. Actually it's a little dusty but nothing a quick wash will sort out. Try not to use it in the wet if I can help it and certainly not in the winter. However when I picked it up new some 12 years ago almost to the day it snowed and I had to drive it back over the penninies in 5 inches of snow, made for an interesting first trip.

It's so clean! How often do you take that out?

Thanks for the pictures, much appreciated. I get my baby back on Friday, been almost 6 weeks now, going to be a very nervous drive back as I will be scared of the dust specks in the wind that might scratch the newly lacquered paintwork...lol

If you have had a spray job then apply film or a wrap if you ever in the future take the film/wrap off the paint will come off as well, you can only remove film/wraps on original factory paintwork.
