Over night stay France...Recommendations?

Off to Johns cottage in Melleran in August which is around 1.5 hour drive in land from La Rochelle. We are driving down. It's around a 6 hour journey from my house so was going to stay over night in France on route. Going Dover to Calais and have been looking at Le Harve to stay ...... Looking for cheap and cheerful and wondered if anyone has any recommendations ..... Only want to travel an hour to two hours into France once off the ferry... Thanks in advance.

Andy, stay in Bernay in the Lion D'or.

The hotel is cheap, the owner, Sophie is lovely, and Bernay is a lovely town, especially when the SM crew are not in residence anyway.

Private parking.

Mention Sportsmaserati and I am sure she will look after you.
