Anyone visited the Ferrari museum in Maranello? Just check out half the people going in - I think there will be a queue of buyers for the car.... Then go to the Lambo and Panini museums and you'll see very different people. I'm afraid that Ferrari is starting to attract a certain type of buyer (sorry for offending any Ferrari owners)....
Not the one in Maranello, but the Enzo Ferrari museum in Modena itself.
It was interesting to look at the people, and see their reaction to the price of the merchandise in the shop. One chap, dressed head to toe in Ferrari, was visibly shocked at the prices being charged. I can only assume that his ensemble was knock off copies.
Ferrari has always attracted a certain percentage of people who buy them because of the badge, to have them in the garage to look at and boast about. You see them in the owners club at the non-driving events, or at Ferrari sponsored events around the country.
I think it's not restricted to Ferrari. There are those for which the car brand is just that, a brand to go with the other brands they make sure you know they have. Ferrari seems attract them more than others because the name is bigger, the same way Rolex does in the watch world.
In a similar way Ferrari seem to get more imitators than other brands some of which, and sort of getting back to the original topic, hurt the eyes.
