Oil level

Checked the oil level as per the instructions in the manual, is it me or is there bugger all chance of getting a decent reading with the engine running?

Level ground, let it idle for a few mins......always works.....

3200 is cold
4209 is warm, let it idle 5 mins then turn off

Dem 4200 needs to be running at time of check as the oil would flood back into the scavenger tank and be retained I the variators

Safrane is 100% correct. It is crucial to check 4200/GS level while running or you WILL overfill it which is not clever! Warm engine, flat ground, idle for 5 mins then check while running.
