Hi all,

Just bought my first ever Maserati. So far so good, a handful of minor issues as expected with a 9 year old car but the main thing that's bugging me is the interior light flicking then going dimmer than the other one. Does anyone know what bulbs I need for the rear interior? I hope you experts will hold my hand throughout my Maserati ownership similar to the way Scoobynet forum helps me. Best Regards Dale

Welcome! Do I see from your avatar that you bought the gold wrapped one? If so, bold choice! Well done!

Hi Catman, Yes I bought it 3 weeks ago and he's had it for that long getting it touched up etc, finally got it home last night. I'm glad you recognise it, there are many vids and photos of it online. I've had a lot of people taking selfies with it which is an odd feeling. It wont be my daily driver long term but it will be for the next month or 2. I was looking for an f430 then finally succumbed to the price tag. I'm keen on getting a personal plate for it - are "mas" or "gts" more common?

Welcome, and well done! Will you, er, ‘unwrap’ it?

My old one had MA53 GTS. Both bases covered.

What a superb plate!Did you sell the plate separate? No I wont be unwrapping it anytime soon, it's metallic blue underneath, all my cars have been/are blue but I don't think it suits the GTS as well. I appreciate the wrap is OTT but I haven't paid extra for it (from the comparisons I did anyway) and I believe it's a big job removing it anyway. My other current car is a 525bhp Impreza. Is there a popular way of getting another 100bhp out of these without compromising reliability as in all honesty even in Sport MC shift mode it feels like I'm towing a caravan. I've considered going back to 20" alloys but that wouldn't help massively.

Metallic blue....sure you don't want to....blue is lovely on a GT......

I believe that the only way to get that sort of power is to supercharge which I know Novitec (link below) used to do it but it will cost.....Think it was 10k plus. A few on here had theirs upgraded with one of those power chip things but was a waste of time as some didn't really see any difference and saw it as a waste of money. The GT S will never be the quickest of cars....but that was never the point of the car. A sports car it ain't but it us a great Grand Tourer which will eat continents, sound and look amazing.

Scuderia also do tuning stuff and are a distrubuter for Novitec..

Welcome, we will certainly see you coming with that wrap - certainly an individual choice but glad to see the car will be getting used.

Thanks for your reply,

I wasn't expecting much but I did expect a little bit more. I will enjoy viewing the link but a 10k supercharger wont be happening. On my Impreza just a simple remap released 50bhp for £399, this was my first mod and is kind've what I was hoping for (wishful thinking hey).

Already I feel embarrassed about the wrap, maybe it won't last as long as I originally thought.

Does anyone know of anybody from East Anglia or any meets this way?

I still can't believe I own a Maserati, shame I'm skint now :)

The plate went when I sold the car. It was a £250 DVLA jobby I was amazed no one had snapped it up, and I was never offered anything for it.

Is your car still London-based? I'm pretty sure I saw it a few times in the Q-Park on Park Lane (I can't believe there are many in that colour). If you want it unwrapped Dub Customs in Basildon is excellent. Equally, I've heard good things about the guys who operate the detailing outfit in the Q-Park.

As Andy said, forget trying to get 5252bhp Impreza performance out of a GTS. She ain't that kind of gal. It's all about the oodles of style, the noise and the presence with these. Sure, they shift like h3ll when you want them to, but they're fast sports GTs, not thrashtastic 0-60 time-bending speed machines.

£250! now that's a bargain. I would've had that for over £1,000 - it's perfect!

I'm in Lowestoft, Suffolk.

Sorry if I come across as a Colin Mcrae wannabe, I really don't expect much but another 5/10% for a few k was all I was asking about. My 2 boys were so excited when they heard it revving in neutral then less so after the ride. I'm not knocking these at all. During my 3 week wait for the car, as I work from home, I literally watched hundreds of Youtube Review video's all saying the same as yourselves. BTW my Impreza looks terrible next to the Maser ( that is their nickname right?). I envy you all for being long term Maserati owners and look forward to using this forum a lot and maybe even meeting some of you assuming that's what happens. Just be sure to bring your sunglasses

You do need to get the revs up beyond 4k to get the best from it, but I'm surprised if it really does feel slow. The GTS is no slouch and I was constantly amazed at how willingly mine would pick up its skirts and dash for the horizon.

Your car must stick out somewhat in Lowestoft!

DMS will remap the GTS to 505hp but as we proved, it makes no difference in performance over the standard with 440hp.

We accept these are not outright power machines but you will learn to love its amazing and sonic engine, its about a good times....not lap times :)

Cheers Andy, another wrap hater though

Not particularly, but it wouldn't be my personal choice.

I am not worried about making a statement, how could I being a drive the Alfa SZ in my avatar - that is a car that forces opinions some love it, others hate it
