Two questions if any can help.

Any idea where I can buy a new front badge for a GS?

The paint has been scratched off down to the bare metal under a wheel arch. I am concerned it will start to rust. Apart from a complete respray is there any other way of dealing with this? Is there a touch up stick I can buy?

Many thanks

Eurospares or Marios at Auto Shield for the front badge. But note they are bolted on and it can damage the paint if not removed properly by removing the bolt either by drilling the thing off or removing the front grill.

If the flesh wound is under the lip you could do this yourself with a anti rust chemical, and a few coats of hammerite smooth...however if it is visible it is best left to the experts for about £500

A good paintshop should be able to do a smart repair on the Wheel arch,if it's done properly you wont be able to see it

Changed the front bonnet badge on mine this afternoon. It turned out easier than i expected - i've heard some dealers recommend removing the front bumper to do it and quote for around 3 - 4 hours labour. It took me much less than that to do it as follows:

1) Mask around the badge using tape (just in case you slip)

2) Cut out a small square in the centre of the old badge using a dremel with a suitable attachment to expose the top of the nut inside. The badge will get very hot in this step and may require several passes, be sure not to let it get too hot as i noticed a small amount of the masking tape glue has marked the paintwork, possibly due to the heat in this step? Having tried meths, claying, polishing etc and still failing to remove these small marks i would say if you are confident with the dremel it may be better not to mask it off at all. I am pretty fussy over my paintwork though...

3) Grind the top of the nut off at which point it will fall on to a shelf above the front grill,

4) Gently prise the old badge off its sticky backed plastic fitting and discard,

5) Peel off the old glue residue and clean the surface thoroughly so the new badge sticks firmly,

6) Stick the new badge on!

If you want to retrieve the old nut and washer remove the front grill and there is plenty of space to reach up on to the shelf in front of the radiator and retrieve them.

Re the paint, in Australia you just visit an auto parts store, take a picture of your paint code or description sticker from under the bonnet, take it in and they mix up a spray can for you.
Spray a small amount of paint into the lid and using an airfix model type brush touch up / paint the area.
Using this method I've fixed tons of stone chips on my bonnet as my car is in daily use.
Even the judges didn't spot the repairs in winning the club concours last year.
As yours is underbody no risk on skills. Go for it.
