Folks,

Have asked a dealer for replacement centre caps for my Neptune wheels, they are like a gun metal grey colour. Dealer has asked me to choose from this list:

Matt titan
Silver
Dark chrome
glossy black
graphite
mercury grey
anthracite grey

Couple there that obviously arent correct but how on earth do i confirm the colour? I believe its cast into the back of the rims? Juts had a feel and felt something on a few of the rims, managed to get a clear pic of one which just said 'Italy' but cant get any other pics.

I checked the owners books etc but no mention of it is there a way to confirm what colour they are please?

Look like mercury to me.

I know my old ones were, and look similar.

Agree with the others, but your wheels look like they have been repainted at some time as they are not a perfect match for the centre caps.

Folks update on this the dealer seems to think my wheel colour is Matt titan.

Am I right in thinking the wheel colour code is cast into the back of the wheel spokes?

Also this is the back of my centre cap I take it nothing here identifies the correct colour?

I would say that centre cap is grigio.

I would be surprised if they cast a colour code into the alloys.

I thought I had read it somewhere in last week or so. Just had another web search to clarify and these pics come up?

It’s a 6 digit number isn’t it? I’ve just taken delivery of some jack pads so going to get a wheel off next week when I’m on holiday

As was mentioned earlier, there's a good chance they've been refurbed/painted at some time in their life, so the chance of them being exact factory colour reduces.

Also, none of the centre caps ever match the wheel colour exactly anyway, so I wouldn't worry too much.

Agree just need to pin down the choice of grey and then I have the code for refurbs as well.
Dealer threw me suggesting a colour which wasn’t the option on here. Hopefully get it all pinned down once I get the wheel off as my assumption would be a refurb would have been a close match to original.

Car was just over 5 years old with extended Maserati warranty when I got it so thinking if they were refurbed it was done via dealer

All the numbers from my wheel. Given how clear they are I don’t believe mine actually have been refurbed before.

Any experts able to confirm the exact colour? 238208 grey surely identifies it?

It’s an image I have and no codes for wheels other than the two I put in.

I’ve emailed a dealer regards wheels and getting front bumper repainted in Bianco Eldorado.

Just having a nightmare on anything paint and colour related so have bitten the bullet. Hopefully the prices to tear me a new one too much and I can stomach it.

Update:

Ordered two centre caps a Grigio Mercury and a Matt Titan, looks like the dealer may have actually nailed it and my wheels are actually Matt Titan.

First pic matt titan, second grigio mercury and then both and one of my existing ones together.

Also the codes on the back of the caps are as follows:

Mine: PA6 M20+GF10
Matt titan: PA6 M20+GF10
Grigio Mercury: PA66 MD10+GF5

So if anything its my centre caps that have faded and not the wheels themselves

So the caps use different plastics? Got love to the simplicity of these things ffs

Wouldn’t want to make it too easy!

The PA6 and PA66 are basically the same. Different production runs might use subtly different material and the mould the reference in for traceability and recycling.
