Ha, I love it phrozen. Now that's what I call going for it!

Plenty of advice on the 3200 available on the forum. A few foibles to be aware of, but nothing that can't be fixed if it hasn't already on the 3200 you end up choosing.

Just seen your 4200 on the other thread. Looks a lovely low mileage example and offered at a good price. Hope the sale is swift.

Hope you'll let us know how you get on in your search for a 3200?

Cheers, Em.

I've been in touch with the Sound Gallery, and they're recommending a Dension Gateway Lite - sounds like it does much the same as the Loudlink, but supports USB rather than SD-card as well as iPod connectivity and, dare I say it, from a more established manufacturer (no disrespect). Does anyone have any experience with this? I know some tried the Dension Ice (with limited success, IIRC)...

UPDATE: bought my loudlink from ebay (refurb without ipod connector as i dont need it). Took about 8 days to arrive but the fit was easy. As I need access to the unit to swap sd cards I mounted it hidden in the passenger footwell -about 30mins job all in! It fired up and worked after some fettling with the software used to program the sd card.

@ hunta It depends on what you need; If all you need is an ipod interface then the loudlink with ipod is a proven solution that works well (and its great vfm!)

Hi Keith,

Yes it is a little anoying but I would suggest you just put CD1 as your AUX then you can plug any MP3 unit in and get whatever track you want.

Just a quick update on my position. I went with the Dension Gateway Lite (http://www.dension.com/product/ipod-car-adapter/ipod-iphone-usb-cd-changer/gateway-lite), and got a local fitter in Watford to fit it (http://www.impulsecar.co.uk/). They didn't have any units in stock but had no problem getting hold of one within a couple of days. Total cost was around £165 fitted, all-in, which incidentally compared favourably with what I was quoted at the Sound Gallery, and I was happy to go with it for a straightforward job. Fitting took around half an hour while I waited, job done.

It'll take either an iPod or a USB stick. With an iPod connected the headunit can be used to skip forward and back but that's it, so we routed the connector to the compartment under the arm rest for track selection and so I can remove it easily. Output is via the 30-pin connector (so line out) and also charges at the same time. I've not tried it with a USB stick.

Overall I'm very pleased with it.

Hi Omar, Yes the connector charges the iPod as well as connecting it to the loudlink, which in turn is connected to the NIT under the armrest. That car's long gone now, but it worked just fine when I had it.
