Sad morning the 456 was picked by the dealer that bought her nice easy transaction he was pleased and looking forward to retailing her.
She looked great one of my best cars to have had the privilidge to own.
Keeping the 4200 now.

I put her on good old ebay as a classified add and in 7 days nearly 600 viewings and 24 watchers.
The buyer wanted to collect last thursday but i just could not fit in.
The transaction went perfect and he will be retailng her as he is a marque specialist.
For me 6 months pleasure and no nasty shocks my only critism is the door window fit which is not easy to get right and a big fuel tank that does'nt stay full for long.
No regrets glad i was able to do it.

Windows on the pre M 456 were an issue IIRC. Surprising as the auto lift/drop on my 1996 328i Coupe worked fine out of the box.

Frustrating when this can work but others struggle with it. My Citroën C6 had frameless glazing and the forum is full of tips, tricks and voodoo on how to configure it, reset it, calibrate it and get it working but on mine it always had wind noise at motorway speeds. What I never understand is if BMW cracked it in 1996 why don't the other manufacturers buy the product from the same suppliers? Most of these components are out-sourced anyway.

Happy for you that you sold the 456, it can't have been easy to see her go, but she sounds to have gone to a good home. So you have decided to keep the 4200, or is it still on the market? I would be inclined to hang on to it, as you know the car and how good it is. Driving in Europe in a RHD is not really an issue, lot's of us have done it and you can as previously said get a toll pass if you need to.
Happy Days in Normandy mate, don't be a stranger though..!!

I see this week that Walkersport Ferrari has now sold my old 456 GTA. I wonder if any of us know the new owner ? Phil.
