Minimising water marks?

Hi

I am hoping that some of the keen detailers on here can give me some advice.

What products can be used to help minimise water marks? My car is a dark grey GTS and without fail a few days after cleaning it it is covered in watermarks if it has been raining.

My current washing procedure is very simple.

Snowfoam
Meguiar's gold shampoo with two bucket method
It also has a good coating of PoorBoys Nattys Carnauba Paste Wax on it.

The wax looks absolutely stunning and after a quick wash the car looks pristine however the wax causes water to bead up on the car which is causing water marks. I leave me car outside so any time it rains and then dries up the car basically needs another wash.

Does anybody have any recommendations for products that will protect the car and give it a good shine, but wont cause as bad water marks as the wax does. I have read that GTechniq Exo is a good shout? If so could this be applies after a snow foam and shampoo?

Any input, advice or opinions appreciated.

Thanks

Your only real option is to try one of these nano teck systems such as Gteck C1/EXO

I would have a pro detailer apply it as you can make a mess of it.

Could also try a sealer over the top of your wax such as Autoglym HD or similar

I detest the water spots, I only get them on occasion and I think it depends on the acidity of the rain but I may be wrong.

Otherwise I think a good wax is the answer, allowing the water to bead off.

It you're not using it as a daily driver, put a good outdoor custom fitted soft lined cover over it?

i too find this extremely annoying, it is strange, as my alfa, daily runner, never had a polish since iv owned it, after i wash it, it rains and leaves no marks or anything, looks clean.

my nice cars which are polished, get covered in water marks and attract dust and look a mess day after cleaning!

When i did wax and polish her, i used meguiars products. The polishing simply makes water simply flow off the car's surface.

the contaniments (metals etc) in rain water and tap water will remain and leave a stain after the H2O evaporates...........you can use either RO or HMA filtered water to rinse your car after washing which should reduce the water marks from washing/rinsing but other than creating a barrier that contaniments cannot physically stick to (as Matt suggests) there is little you can do about rain water marks imo.

I get around this by drying with a microfibre towel after washing and never driving it in the rain☔️

Hmm.....may just be possible where you live, but try north Scotland for avoiding rain! We are just happy if it falls straight down and does come at you sideways. Lol
